I thought about picking up Galaxy Bowl Riff even though I'm not a big IPA fan and then I was like, wait, would I buy this if it didn't have Galaxy Bowl in the name? So I passed.

Milkshake IPAs... I am just over them.

Watch HB put out a west coast IPA w/out lactose as one of their next offerings.

The west coat one they did a couple months back was great.

I wish HB did more non-hazy IPAs because they generally make really good beers.

All the Marbles was solid but pretty boozy/syrupy. Not on the level of Steel Cage Match. So don’t let your fomo get you down

Flying to Chicago first week of June (Mon-Wed) for training. I’ll have Monday afternoon to hit up Chicago area. The other days not so much. I’ll be checking out spots around the Des Plaines and Schaumburg area. HB puts out cans end of the week. So getting any cans from HB is slim to none? If slim then whereabouts? Capone’s? The Beer Temple? Online? Or anyplace I can call and buy over phone and hope it’s there when I get there? Or it’s not worth the hassle? Thanks.

Personally thought Steel Cage Match was gross.

Ah yes, I know that feeling. You then just feel dead inside after drinking it. Buckle up.

I'll echo what others have said. Im over the milkshake trend. I don't mind them, but I've had enough.

I like it as a change of pace, although in general I go for non-milkshake IPAs before milkshake ones. HB release enough beers now that I think it's fine if they do these every few weeks (since they're also usually one of the better versions I've run into in Chicago).

With that said, 1) I've yet to try Riff and 2) I'd really like them to hop into Sour NE IPAs like FR.

Maybe I'm just burnt out on hazy's in general.

I'm half in, half out. I've been jumping back and forth because neither hazy nor non-hazy is always doing it for me lately (I've been drinking a lot of lagers, too, so that isn't helping).

I agree with the consensus about GB being a waste, though; that was the first thing I said when someone on this thread mentioned it was going to be a milkshake. It's too good of a beer to waste on adjuncts and shit, unless the regular one is also coming soon.

let's be honest, HB is the only game in town who is putting out haze on the regular, and their stuff, while very good to great, does tend to taste similar.

of course, why wouldn't they replicate a successful model? the rest of the market seems to be falling behind, leaving us with fewer and fewer options
