VIP on swole! 9 beers included! Maybe I am a light weight, but that seems extreme, but hey parking is included too.....make sure you have a DD.

They have onsite lodging and a shuttle to the Best Western.

Spirit Family Reunion is fantastic. Watch their NPR tiny desk concert performance.

Best Western appears to be fully booked already!

Pricing seems rather out-of-whack to me. Not much info on your options if you don't go the VIP route. Sort of an all-or-nothing proposition? It's 8 miles from me but cannot identify a real incentive to go, sorry to say. I could rent out a room that weekend in exchange for a VIP ticket, I suppose...

It seems if you don't go VIP you get the music and parking. Beers should be around 5$ and meals 5-15$. I seen that somewhere on the site.

I looked all over the site for pricing on beers & food, and couldn't find any info. That would be helpful in order to determine whether it's an affordable day without going VIP. Can you tell me where you found that info? This is some of the same folks who put on SIPtemberfest, and info on that was always very straightforward.

I really like the brewery list and keeps getting better.

Give J.P Harris a shot. A northern Vermont boy! Most of his music is much more upbeat than the selection on the website. Most of his songs have beer or some kind of drinking in them.

So what am I missing here? I would think folks would be going crazy for a chance to drink beers from the brewers listed at this event, but the "hype" seems quite low. I can't wait. We are spending a few hundred bucks to drive up and pay for lodging. Who cares if the ticket prices are a few bucks high.

Just bought tickets, can't wait! For anyone on the fence about this, FYI although Best Western's site claims they are sold out for the 30th, if you call them they still have rooms available at a seriously great rate just for people going to Hop Jam. There's even a free shuttle to/from the Best Western up to Bolton.

Mendonjoebeer, I really don't know why there's no hype, but the brewery list keeps getting better and the music looks good too. If I'm not mistaken this is the fest's first year, but still...

So $40 to walk thru the gates and listen to some jam bands. Oh and there's some beer and food available to purchase while you're there. I don't get it. I'd rather just drink at Blackback all evening.

You've just described a concert. Is this a new concept to you? :grinning:

Looking forward to it as I've never in my life been to a concert or at Blackback when they had Alchemist, Lawson's, Hill Farmstead, Trillium, Lost Nation, Treehouse, etc. all on tap. And I've spent an inordinate amount of time at concerts and at Blackback. But hey, to each their own, this one ain't for everybody apparently.

You're right. I was looking at it in the context of a beer fest. It's a high price for a concert too considering there are no major acts.

EDIT - I hate jam bands, so maybe some of these are major acts. I wouldn't know, it's all one long assed song to me.

My GF bought me tix for our anniversery. We'll be up with another couple. Me and my buddy have VIP, while our GF's have GA. Gonna be a fun day.
