Hm, this is interesting. Would like to hear both sides of the story. From interviews and what not, Mark Sellars seems like a nice, down-to-earth guy, so I'm sure he wouldn't pursue legal action without a legit reason. Odd that they did the bars for the original Hop Cat without issue, but fell through on this one.

When I visited HotCat DET and sat at the bar for a few I remember thinking, "Man, they did a really nice job with the interior of this place! Those paintings are off the hook! ... but the bar top seems kind of under thought".

With all that stuff this Heineman guy sounds like he's getting into coming up (opening a brewery, television show, etc.) maybe he was just overloaded. I don't want to speculate though. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I'm biased as Breakroom's Brewmaster is a friend... sucky.

I would think losing out on sixty grand is a pretty legit enough reason, but would be nice to hear both sides of it. I haven't heard anything but praise for the hopcat owner.

Of course I'd like to hear more, but if you say you're going to do something by a certain date, you do it, or at least communicate accordingly.

Especially when you have a brewery opening & apparently a Discovery series coming out. Maybe he has too much going on but just like with trading, communication is the key

I'm not at all surprised by this. Aaron Heineman is shady. I know several people who worked on previous projects who had to struggle to get paid - checks bouncing or not receiving checks at all. Some people eventually saw this money, but some did not (those who didn't speak English well and weren't able to threaten a lawsuit, for instance). Meanwhile, Aaron Heineman would buy what he called "toys" for himself, like a new Jeep or boat. I'd really like more information on this alleged Discovery series.
