I have yet to see my 2nd year Cascades and Fuggles. They may have fried in the summer heat last year. My anemic first year growth was brown by late August.

They're planted in the shade and will grow (hopefully) into the sun. I'm hoping that the ground where they're planted still needs to warm up.

Has anybody's hop bines emerged in the midatlantic, zone 7?

I have hops that are popping up already. It is already 2 feet high.

Hopefully your hops will start to pop soon.

    Cheers!

P.S. This is the second year for these hops. I think they are Nugget hops. I am located in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

I'm zone 5 (Northeast Illinois). Mine are just over 2' tall and popping up 3' from where i planted them! Zone 7??? I suspect you may have a problem. But give them time before you write them off.

Some varieties in Zone 7 should have popped three weeks ago.
Others should have popped within the last week or so.

If you gots nothing this week or next...it's probably SOL-time.

zone 5B Finger Lakes NY. My best are over 3 feet now, but a bad frost on the way tomorrow night.
"brown by August" sounds less than good... good luck and plant some more!
