You can always get it at the brewery! I forget where I heard it but they said if you can get it you can get somewhere you can get it at the brewery.

Shoot me a BM if you can grab an extra 4/6 pack of PyscHOPathy, sounds like a beer worth trading for.

PsycHOPathy is delicious stuff. Gnarly Brown and Identity Crisis are both tasty as well.

I also LOVE the fact that I work a mile down the road from the brewery and get to hit up their taproom on a regular basis .

No better place than to get it straight from the brewery! Fresh PsycHOPathy is great!

Visited the brewery Friday, cool place. Got a tour. I like their beers and the people that work there.

I know I'm digging deep into the archives, but look at how far they've come in a little over 2 years.

Can't wait for their new spot at the end of the year.

A friend brought me a 4-pk, I believe, of Citra High last summer that was devine. Will be swinging by next time we are in Cincy for a Reds game.

They just tapped their latest high "Motueka High" in the past week or so and it's the best of the High series so far.

From what I heard, we can look forward to seeing some other highs soon, but mostly on tap.

Best in Cincinnati and challenging for best in Ohio. The taproom is only 10 minutes from me now. I love it. And soon, the new place will be even closer. Dangerous is more the term I'm looking for haha. I do hope they continue the trunk series. I mean how can they not brew CV Axis Mundi again? Still top 3 beer I've ever had. I've had every Trunk Series beer except for the Pumpcan barrel aged just because I don't care for pumpkin beers that much.

I haven't had any of the Funk Series yet either, but I'm not a huge fan of sours. I still want to give them a try. They make some really good beers, and I like the fact they make some pretty darn good Scottish ales as well. That's a style I don't see too much but I love. Anyway, just wanted to stop in and continue spreading the love of MadTree. Great brewery with great leadership in a great city.

MadTree is probably in my top 3 of fave Ohio breweries al though I am saddened at the recent news of Gnarly Brown being phased out : (

The funk series is GREAT. I've had 2 of the 3 they've released so far. I'm not a fan of sours, but they have a lot of flavor and aren't too harsh. The Sherry Cherry Raspberry is a beer my wife is begging for bottles of, which is a rare thing, and the Peach Lovanto is also a nice beer that she swiped out of my hands at Cincy Beerfest.

I haven't been huge on the Trunk Series just yet. I've had a couple in the taproom, but I'm a bit of a stiff on price, after having the most recent batch of BBA Axis Mundi, I will be ISO these from now on. Unfortunately their release time prohibits me from getting them. Noon is not a good time for me :slight_frown:.

It's a real pain in my ass that I have to drive right past it on my way home from work . Gnarly Brown is a great beer and hopefully it'll be back in cans sometime next year. It seems like it has a much better reputation than I had thought. Getting PSA in cans is a great business move though, that was the only market, IMO, that Rhinegeist had an advantage over them on.

Almost every MadTree beer I've tried has triggered my hop sensitivity, from Gnarly Brown to Thunder Snow. All I get from those is a wall of perfume, nothing else. (Too many tongue papillae that can detect too many compounds, it's a fun little curse.)

Barrel-Aged Vanilla Coffee Axis Mundi did not trigger my hop sensitivity, however, and was a good BA stout, so I'd consider giving more of their stuff a shot - especially since I'm in Blue Ash, and they're just a couple exits down 71! What do they offer up that is not quite as heavy-handed on the hops as Gnarly Brown or Thunder Snow?

For reference, my two favorite local breweries are Triple Digit and Taft's - it's hard to top Aftermath, Gravitator, Maverick, and such for me.

I've been increasingly happy with them since moving to SW Ohio a year ago. Psychopathy has taken its place as my most frequently purchased beer (edging out Truth by a bit) and I've been really excited about Rubus Cacao and Identity Crisis lately- will need to load up on those before they're gone for the year. I'm surprised the beer guy at my main store said they've been having a tough time moving Rubus, but I guess that's not too weird for a non-IPA.

I propose that all trademark disputes when beers are introduced within 18 months of each other should be settled by average rating scores. Lower score changes their name (and gets a fresh start in the ratings!).

Had a great time in Cincinnati earlier this year and am looking forward to returning. I found a better selection of Mad Tree's offerings in area bars than in the tap room though

Personally I'm not a fan of WI brewing company. So if they have to change the name of one of their mediocre beers I feel completely indifferent. Having said that though, I've never had any Mad Tree beers so while I won't take any sides I can tell you WBC probably has more money at their disposal than Mad Tree so I just hope whatever inevitably happens its amicable.

Looks like Psychopath came second, so I'm thinking MadTree is safe here.

I find that hard to believe since MadTree has 16 taps.

Well, Mad Tree already has to change the name of Gnarly Brown due to a bullshit wine dispute, so...

Personally, I like Rhinegeist better. Just my .02.

Agree about the BA Axis Mundi, but you're the first I've heard mention infection in the CV BA Axis Mundi...all of my bottles have been fine so far...maybe I'm just lucky.

Maybe he means current batches pre bottling, last years CV was outstanding.

I've never had an infected beer from Madtree and I've had many bottles. Maybe you did something to your bottles @AlienSwineFlu ?

I did hear a lot about the first batch of the regular BA Axis Mundi having some infection issues. The brewery is aware and took care of it, or so I heard.

I haven't heard anything about the CV or the latest batch being infected, but I'll let you know on Saturday when I open mine.

Nope. The BA Mundi infection issue is well-known. The CV Mundi infection reports are just starting to come in. I agree that it was pretty good fresh, but proceed with caution with any that are still out there.

The first #FunkSeries bottle release is going to be a big one! Six bottles, one morning. Be there!

Got a chance to try all of these last night on draft at Liberty's Bar & Bottle. A huge dive into the world of sours by Madtree, and well-done for their 1st foray. The two standouts for me were Dead Flowers and the Strawberry Levanto.

Not sure about allotments or price- there's some of that info (apparently) on Facebook, but I don't get into that. Maybe someone else will fill us in on the rest of the details?

They are $12.50 each including tax. Limit one of each per person.

My wife really enjoyed the Sherry Cherry Raspberry and the Peach Levanto that she had. I think we're going to buy one of each and call it a day.

I still have 4 or 5 bottles of cv axis mundi and 1 ba axis. C.V. Axis is one of my favorite local beers. I hope they don't have any infection issues, they haven't so far. I'll be sure to report back if I encounter any issues.

Since Nobody followed up on the Madtree sour release - it was probably the biggest cincy beer release I have seen yet. Believe first person there was 530am and the long got pretty long by opening time. All the sharing was great and the sours did not disappoint. Dead Flowers was the most limited bottle and the surprise winner in terms of tastiness - imo of course. I was also surprised by the chamomile. I am excited to see how these beer develop over time. I think all of them had plenty of fruit character - which is nice. Overall, for first crack at real deal sours, Madtree did a really nice job! They are on a roll
