How many beers do you sample at a BEER FEST?

I work in the industry so even when I attend festivals I have to keep "frosty". I usually get previews so I know which ones I want to spend more time at. Rarely will I do the "walk around" because if I tried everything I'd be drinking instead of sampling and wouldn't remember the last bunch anyway.

 

I'm one of those who likes to try everything, so unless I've had it before, I'm trying it.

 

Until I fill the card or my eyes glaze over, whichever comes first.

 

I get the list ahead of time, and pick out about 40 that I would like to try, usually new styles or definitely new beers, none I've had before.Then while there, line length dictates which ones I actually have. Averages around 28-34, with the high end almost, almost too many.

 

I could discard half of each beer I get so I can try more, but some part of me just feels wrong wasting a perfectly enjoyable beer.

 

Surprisingly no. for every beer i tasted, i drank a cup of water. also kept my stomach full. I was out cold the second i got home tho... at 7pm

 

The festivals here in WA use tokens that you have to buy so it is usually around 10 but I get a few from friends and brewers that know me so I probably end up doing ~20. Unlimited pour festivals I get to about 40 (based on GABF for three days and the GVFB this past weekend) on average.

 

I usually try around 30 or so but don't really keep track. I try all the things I've never had first, before going to other beers.

 

I'm closely associated with a top notch local festival and generally make a plan to taste about 15 new beers early on. The plan is always altered, but I will not get toasted, just happy. I move on along and get home before the loud madness descends.

 

Thats exactly what i try to do...but i get through about 12 samples before i throw in the towel And my normal bed time is 8pm so making it to 7 isnt all that bad for me
