I’d have to go into each one and see if I reviewed them or not. A lot of these older beers were reviews though because that was the standard for BA back in the day. Just giving a numerical rating was frowned upon so I’ll bet the majority of them are actually reviews. Also, if the rating of a beer goes above a 4.25 on my opinion I will write a review for it which increases the chances on a lot of these too.

Reviewed 220 but have tried a few more. I've only had the chance to try Utopias at festivals and PtY still eludes me.

154 for me. I see at least 3-4 on there I know I’ve had but forgot to rate/review. My take home message reviewing this list is that I need to book a trip to Brussels once this quarantine is lifted.

I am curious @Todd do retired beers stay on this list?
It is an amazing list, I hope to try them all someday. There are some beers I would have on the hall of fame like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale for instance, that sadly won’t crack the list given modern palates. Could be a cool annual thread for nominating and voting on a beer hall of fame class. Would learn a lot of beer history! Maybe respect beer society nominates and everyone votes?

Yeah that would be a lot of fun. Like every year when 15 year old continuous beers come into the eligibility for nomination, we could vote in like 10 max new beers per year? Maybe even max it out to only 1 beer style each as well. So each year a Brewer could get in for excellence of multiple beer styles but there would never be more than 1 NEIPA or 1 pastry that makes it into the Hall of fame each year. Just to keep it balanced for the world of beer styles. Just fun ideas to kick around.

131 reviewed & a lot more tried, like several of the Cantillons I've had at tastings or in Belgium that I didn't review because I was in public enjoying the beer. Have to draw the geek line someplace!

I somehow hadn't seen this list up until now. My numbers aren't great at only 15, with at least 30 more that I've had before my time here and a handful in my fridge that I haven't had yet. I just wanted to say that it warms my heart to see East End's Gratitude barleywine on the list. It's one of the first beers that I remember getting some real buzz around here, and I try to include it in any BIF boxes that I send when possible. I'll be consulting this list much more in the future.

I am still adding rates from my backlog. I am surprised how many of these classics I have actually had. I will check the count when I am finished. Some of these classics are quite a bit over-hyped, but most of them are really good stuff, and stand their ground even today.

I’ve had 138. I like the consistency, diversity and availability of the list compared to the Top 250. It’s a great resource to find the best beers of different styles to sample.

We don't split them apart. It would require a separate list on the backend for each user or extra calls on the page (more overhead in both cases).

I hear ya, but it's #12 on the Most Popular Beers list.
Beers of Fame, like the other lists, is an automated list based on multiple criteria. Forcing a beer to appear on the list would change its purpose. That said, your suggestion has led to a couple of ideas that I want to explore.

Still checking in / rating on Untappd (nice to see some cross-over finally going on, by the way), but a quick check found 78 that I have tried (plus another 14 on my Wish List). Only 2 of the Top 10, but 5 of the next 10.

The list itself has a good mix (maybe a little heavy on the IPAs). But there are a lot of under appreciated styles represented too (Altbier, Bock, Brown Ale, all the Wheat styles). I think it does reflect a tendency to rate higher ABV beers a little higher. But a few 5.0% and under beers made the list. I didn’t see anything that I thought “Why is that here?”

Thanks for highlighting this list. I will definitely target more of these in my Wish List and keep an eye out for them.

Oh I wasn’t saying force change the list, I love all the lists, especially the ones for each style. I was just spitballing what a voted on HoF would look like. Glad I could spark some ideas!

135 - my second most-successful list behind Popular Beers, which is at 196...

I like the BoF list because it's fairly stable and reflects beers that have stood the test of time - I always fall way short on the Top 250 list (59 lol) but I have had most of the BoF that are available to me - and there a few I've missed that are at Total Wine, too, I think - I'll revisit the list in the future and pick up any easy-to-grab strays...

111 reviewed and maybe a dozen or so more that I've had but not reviewed.

To me, this list is the gold standard for consitent greatness.

I enjoy variants and one-offs but they are fleeting. The beers in the HoF are always there for us and set the standard for their respective styles.
