I couldn't agree more. If the question had been which have you had in your possession in the last 30 days, my list would have been in the high 20's versus 17, and it will most likely be down to 15 by Monday morning.

I presume that most BA members drink beer as well, so I wouldn't say that practice is as weird as you might think.

I was ready to say zero, but then noticed that Wiehenstephaner made the list. I almost always have a few bottles of that in the fridge.

This made actually read the whole list, which I had never done before, and I think if I walked into a store that all 250 for sale I would be interested in maybe 20 beers on that list. It seems to be, with some noted exceptions, all about IPAs, APA, Impy Stouts, Wild Ales, and Gueuzes. I could be wrong, but it strikes me as unreasonable for the top 250 to be dominated by such a small subset of styles.

    So far... zero.

Unlikely to change soon (given the state of my bank account, and the whole "half of these are limited releases/only in certain areas" thing), but I figure I've got a pretty good chunk of my lifespan left (...probably a longer chunk now since I've cut soda out of my diet and have a beer every now and then instead) so I'll probably get around to trying at least some of them at some point.

Just to put some numbers to it, APA, IPA, DIPA, RIS, AIS, Lambic, Gueuze, and AWA account for 190 of the list.

I don't know that it is 'unreasonable' considering this is where all of the recent innovations have been; when's the last time you saw a headline about a new doppelbock? English bitter? The Top 250 list is all about what is big right now, and IPAs, stouts, and sours are definitely where it's at right now.

On the Beers of Fame list however, only 84 entries are one of those styles you mention, roughly 1/3 of a list that is much less dependant upon current trends.

I have two bottles of Sculpin in the fridge and two bottles of Backwoods that I am aging. That's it.

I just finished my 2014 stash of FBS or else I'd have 3 of 250.

Some of the lists above are mind blowing to me and lead to two questions: how big are your cellars (I mean literally the physical space)? and how many here are childless (I'm guessing a good number).

I don't have a basement so no formal 'cellar', but I have 2 fridges in the garage that are pretty close to full of beer, and 18 or so cases in the house.

    I have 2, going on 3, kids.
