How many Top 250 beers have you had?

Wow 43 can tell I haven't traded in years. 160 from Hall of Fame. Try new stuff if I see it but don't search it out anymore mostly just enjoy good beer now, even if I am the only one thinking its good.

 

I'm stuck between 140-145. Every time I cross one out, two new ones I haven't had get added to the list.

After doing some research on the top 250 list for another thread, I noticed that I've only rated 6 out of the top 250 beers. Wow...that's surprising. I've drank and rated a lot of good beers but only 6 are listed in the top 250? So what are your numbers? How many have you rated? Cheers!

 

I just started rating as a new years resolution. I have rated 11 beers so far on the list, but I know I have tried a bunch more in years past. My goal is to rate 50 of the top 250 this year.

 

16. Lately my local go-to craft beer bar has done a really good job rotating top-notch beers onto their taps.

 

How many times are we going to have a "how many of the top 250 have you tried/rated" thread.

 

Wow, just discovered that I have only rated 4 out of the top 250; hard to believe but true.

 

I'm at 115/250.

I think I've only posted in 2 of the 250 threads like this, though.

 

Only 20. I am just not a whale chaser. The funny part is I am very top heavy with a lot of the top few.

 

How many times are we going to have someone complain about a "thread we have seen before"?

Mine is 4 from the top rated list.

Probably untill we stop have the same thread over and over and over agian.

 

33, with 2 in the Top 10 and 15 in the Top 100.

I need to start rating the stuff I drink higher to improve my ratio.

 

None, but since I don't go for Imperial anything, sours, fruits, or American (especially west coast) IPAs, this reduces the top 250 to about a top 10 list for anything I would actually seek out.

24. Doubt I will ever get to try all 250, but there are some many good beers out there that are not on the 250 and regularly available to me, that I really don't care if I don't get to all 250.

Without trying I'm up to 116 with about another 15-20 in the cellar. Maybe I will start going after this as I love lists.

 

I've rated 32 here on BA, but I've had a lot more than that...since it's been a while since I had them, I won't rate from memory.

 

Perhaps you shouldn't click on and read those 'duplicate' threads then. Just an idea, but it would probably solve a lot of those problems. It's a much better solution than trolling the forums for things to complain about.

 

Coincidentally, I just noticed that while I have only had those 4 on the Top 250 list, I have had 11 on the 250 Beers of Fame listing. Still not a lot for either, but more of the beers of fame than the top rated ones.

 

'Only' 14 for me, that I've rated. Two additional in the beer fridge.

I should start trading.


Edit: And apparently 60 on the Beer of Fame list. Only 2 on the New list.

 

I have had 13, but living in Michigan aids this, because a lot of the top 250 beers that are from Michigan are fairly easy to come across (e.g. Breakfast Stout, Founders Imperial, Backwood Bastard). I know that there are tons of awesome beers out there, but I am still shocked that Plead The 5th from Darkhorse isn't in the top 250.

 

Why does matter? I don't understand what difference this makes...

 

As someone pointed out I unfairly attacked a thread I was not interested in. But I personally wish the forums had slighlty more involved content than a constant dick measuring contest that is How many of x have you had.

 

One sure way to never be troubled by it again would be to not click on a thread labeled "How many top 250 beers have you had?"

While I was directing my post at your specific comment, my response was more a general statement of confusion at the number of posts that basically say "I can't believe that we are discussing topic X again!!!"

I get your frustration and I also get that you want these forums to be more substantive. The best way to do that is to post a new thread about something you want to discuss. See if it catches on. If not, try again - it's free.

It has to be said, though, that some of the Top 250 are damn near impossible to get in the UK - maybe I ought to start trading ...

I'm faring rather better with the top UK and Belgian ales, though
