Not since Kegs & Eggs before football games in South Bend in college.
I do it very seldom. It is usually only on Christmas, but I do make exceptions if I'm tail gating for football games.
I'll have a beer with brunch on the weekends every once in a while when I actually can be bothered to make brunch. I don't exclusively do stouts though, I just usually go for a beer with a semi-low abv (<6%). A good hefe is very good with a lighter breakfast of grains and fruit, but the beer I choose any particular breakfast depends on what i'm having, just like any other meal.
maybe it's years of social pressure barring down on me but I generally don't feel like a beer much before 11.
There are a few exceptions --> Early morning line for beer, transferring beers around the "brewery", checking carbonation levels etc
There is a great beer bar near me that has brunch on the weekends. When we go (once a month at the most) I will have some biscuits and gravy with some eggs and a nice stout on tap. Two months ago it was Big John, last month is what Wake Up Dead. While it might slow my Saturday down a bit it is a meal that I look forward to.
if by morning you mean before noon, sure, on weekends quite often, I'll have a beer at 10:30-11Am while eating lunch, but I'm up at 6AM everyday...
oh... re-read, breakfast time, nope never, I eat my breakfast with coffe, but I do drink beer in the morning just after breakfast.
humble-brag ND grad...
Hey, it's not as bad as Harvard grads saying "Oh, I went to school in Boston. Well, not in Boston, but nearby"
How come no one has referred to a kegs n' eggs occasion? I've never attended one and by now it's too late in life to go through that again.
Damn too slow on the post. Someone did it two posts up.
When I lived up in AK NFL games started at 9am. We used to get to the sports bar at 8 and start!
When we're out of milk for the cornflakes............
^^^ Milk Stout & Corn Flakes ! Hahahaha !
I'm too dehydrated in the mornings.
It gives me a headache and/or a stomach ache.
During the week, I don't drink beer until several hours after my evening workouts. Otherwise I will end up skipping the gym altogether. Alcohol is no good for muscle recovery.
Beer in the morning only at early morning tailgates
Never, but that's going to change in a few weeks. For my birthday, I told my wife I want to hang out and drink beer and wine and eat delicious cheese/meats/dips/etc. all day. Hopefully we'll get in some pool time and a movie. I'm looking forward to it!
The most recent time was nearly six years ago, the day I got married, accompanied by a pork roll and egg sandwich.
like twice a year? if that? I'm not a big morning drinker.
Did it once, maybe 15 years ago. Not my thing.
I've done it twice. Both times were FBS and once was a Saturday and the other was a blizzard.
In college every friday. Best time ever. Now a days only during tailgating, on vacation, st. paddys day, 1 or 2 local festivals...stuff like that.
I don't think I've ever opened a beer before 1:00.
WTF...There are BAs that don't drink beer with breakfast? What's next, not having a beer every day of the week?
Never. I drink coffee like most normal people.
Almost never. Just can't get into the mindset for drinking until at least after lunch... usually not till mid-afternoon at the earliest.
Only exceptions are tailgating before a 1-pm NFL game, 3 times at Kate the Great and once at Dark Lord.
Can't say I ever have.
There are a few instances in which I drink beer in the AM.
Tailgate for noon College Football game
While setting up fantasy football lineup early on a Sunday
While watching an 8AM English Premier league match
Amen to that. Drank beer at strange hours when I was stationed in Hawaii & Korea while football was on
I can drink in the AM, but not with my cheesy eggs. That's a good case of the bubble guts.
Had the chance to do so this morning! Yay early drunkenness!
Rarely but not because I am afraid of my wife's reaction (she wouldn't care). I don't do it because it'll generally slow my down, which wouldn't help once I got to work. However, there are times when it gets a big thumbs up from me. Here's some examples:
Camping during the Vermont Brewer's Fest in Burlington. Wake up Saturday AM, grab a cold one out of the cooler, start the day off right.
For my brother's 30th bday party we took him to his first New York Giants game (whole family are die hard fans). Cracked a Long Trail Double Bag at 9:30 AM.
Renaissance Fair five years ago. Yard of Killian's. When in Rome.....
Three day weekend in Montreal. Enough said.
My first father's day as a dad (last June). Four year old bottle of Storm King. It just felt right.
Once a year, Black Friday at Capone's @ 7:00 am. Granted I don't really order food but it's still early as hell.
Twice in my life. One of those times I snuck in an FBS to a Waffle House to pour into my mug before the one-eyed waitress could give me a refill.
Sometimes! This morning I had a Milk Stout Nitro from Left Hand. Paired with a breakfast burrito = delicious.
I might drink beer "around" breakfast, but never with breakfast. Or almost any meal for that matter. I know some people like to pair but it's just not my thing.
my buddy recently poured KBS on his Golden Grahams at a camping trip. He said it was good but I can't buy that. I think he just said that so he wouldnt feel worse for wasting a KBS
So far twice.
Never. I am not an alcoholic.
Not quite as often as I drink orange juice with dinner.
Not since I was in the service.
