I have recently acquired Pliny the Elder, Heady Topper, FFF Dreadnaught, FFF Zombie Dust and Fat heads Head Hunter. I just want to see how people ranked these beers against each other. I can not get enough of IPAs. Which of these beers are over rated and which need more attention. Feel free to throw in other beers not mentioned.

I have had all of the listed minus head hunter.

    Ranking IMO:
    Heady
    ZD
    Pliny
Dreadnaught (I liked arctic panzer better)

I picked Dread, but that's because I haven't had Heady. I would also like to notably mention the following:

    Gandhi-Bot
    Oak Jai Alai
    Simtra
    Nelson
and prob a new top favorite as of Tuesday, fresh Double Dry Hopped Ruinition

I can't get any of these beers regularly... so, St. Arnolds Endeavour or Lagunitas Sucks.

IMO: HT > ZD > Pliny. I haven't had the other FFF or Head Hunter

Two Hearted is my favorite IPA for everyday. Not a Hop Bomb by any means, but a fantastic, well-rounded IPA. So drinkable.

Definitely a good choice too. Same with Lakefront IPA....another great IPA that gets no hype.

Tried an Odell's IPA next to Pliny, blind pig, zombie dust, and furious and it was as good as any of them.

Heady is currently the best ipa in cans, but once boneyard starts their canning line, who knows.

I chose Zombie Dust because it's my favorite of the options. I've had all but Head Hunter, so I can also say that ZD isn't really comparable to the others.

After Zombie Dust, I would probably choose Heady, then Pliny, then Dreadnaught. Zombie Dust still trumps all for me though.

Citra gets most of the love, but Kern River's Just Outstanding IPA is, in fact, just outstanding.

LOL! Y'all are still talking about these beers, aren't you? Honestly, do any of you actually try beers blindly? When you go to the bar or bottle shop, there are great beers that you just overlook if you're always trying to hunt based on what you "heard." Funny, because if you take out the "a" in"heard," you get the embarrassing truth of your beer drinking lifestyle.

I live in PA so I can get some pretty great IPA's, Heady Topper is fantastic and lives up to the hype. But HopSlam and Nugget Nectar are also quite good. As well as your usual Two Hearted, Sculpin IPA, Hop Devil, and Hop Wallop (Victory). But I agree with Robert, if you like 1 IPA, then chances are you're goign to like all IPA's just to a varying degree. I've never wasted money on a single IPA I didn't like. Can't say the same for many other styles of beer.

I have had them all in a blind taste test. Heady and Double Sunshine were my favorite by far. But I like that flavor profile which is WAY different than the rest. Head Hunter is good for everyday drinking but it is a Honda to Headys Mercedes.
It is very hard to compare because they are all so different. Partly because you have 3 different styles in the list.

Is the poll a trick question? There is only one IPA listed? I suppose I have to vote for Head Hunter.

Those are all great IPA's, I don't think any of them are overrated! I gotta throw Odell's IPA and mycenary to that list.

Heady Topper is the best by far. No hype there.

This thread is nuts. Agreeing on what IPA is the best is impossible. I'd take Heady over anything I've had. Stone Enjoy By is probably my second favorite right now.
