    Is there anyway to calculate the pre boil volume? I am not sure if I have a super mean boil or if my measuring stick was way off today. My Pre-boil gravity was 1.051 my post was 1.068 and I only got about 4.75 Gallons into my fermenter. Hoping to see what I did wrong on this one.

    68 x 4.75 = 51 x PreBoilVolume
    323 = 51 x PreBoilVolume
    323/51 = PreBoilVolume
    PreBoilVolume = 6.33

    Where does the 323 come from?

    Thank you! Looks like I need a new measuring stick as I was supposed to have 7.75 Pre-Boil gallons. I was wondering why I finished so high.
