Please don't hate me! (they were £1 each in Oddbins!)

You know what, perhaps I should be ashamed of my utter hate and contempt for this beer
    I've never even tried it.

You know, it really IS rather drinkable. I mean, it's no Weihenstephaner (or even Schneider Weisse), but it's clean tasting, with a hint of coriander and orange. Super chilled, it goes down well.

A case of decoys. Nice thinking. If only I 'd thought the same thing before all my Ruination was downed at Christmas.

Yeah I can imagine all those being great to have chilled on a day like today actually.

To my eternal shame, these are no decoys. Well, unless you count the glass of Faustino VII I just had. Still, I'll neck them straight from the bottle like a peasant and reap the benefits in the morning... :-)

Hey, as big commercial Spanish reds go, you could do an awful lot worse than Faustino VII.
As for Blue Moon, well, we all have our shameful weaknesses. I love fine dining but I've never met a Big Mac I've said no to. And for beer, I've always had a soft spot for a can of McEwans Export. Though I've not had one in about ten years.

    Is it like Hoegaarden?
I used too really like Hoegaarden but went off it
I'm trying to work out is it because at the time there wasn't much else on offer or that over time they have cranked up the peel and coriander from being a hint to being too much.

It is a bit like Hoegaarden used to be, although less creamy. You're right, Hoegaarden did change in the late 90s/early 00s, at least I felt it did. Plus, these days people actually know about it, when back in the day it was really only something those "in the know" tended to drink.

Thanks for the support! You know, I actually completely forgot about McEwans! There was a time you'd see the lager in pubs, I've not seen it for years though. Made for a better pint than Tennents/Miller at the time.

It's crap - stick to the Faustino VII then advance to the La Rioja 904 Gran Reserva!

And then move onto to mature classed growth Bordeaux to continure the process.

Picked up a blue moon today to see what it's like. Also got a newcastle summer ale and a founders ale. The founders was quite good whereas the summer ale is quite unpleasant.
