If you like big barreled sweet chocolate stouts this is for you. Exactly as they describe it.
16.2% is insane cuz it isn't that noticeable .

Im back with some more imperial stout goodness. this is Eat My Stout from Barreled Souls. I wish I had picked this up earlier in the year, but couldnt get a road trip together to Maine. This brew features marshmallow and butterfinger candy bars, and is 11.2%. However, its definitely not as sweet as if could have been, nor what I thought it may be.

    onto my review:[IMG]
Sampling a cellar temp 500 ml bottle poured into a snifter. Picked up at the brewery last weekend, almost 1 year after bottling. oops. Gotta get up to Barreled Souls more frequently!
The beer pours a rich cola brown with dense creamy head of 4 cm. Almost overtops my glass, but does fade pretty quickly to a sturdy surface covering. I do get dense lattice when I swirl my glass.
Aroma is dark chocolate, roasted malt notes some brown sugar and a bit of candied peanut butter note. Not boozy at all and no hop character either.
First sip reveals a smooth texture and soft, gentle carbonation that is almost non existent. Body is medium and the beer drinks pretty easy overall.
Flavor is rich malt with some dark chocolate, sweet chocolate, hints of roasted notes and some brown sugar. I get a bit of peanut butter towards the swallow and a bit of sweetness lingers. Never really any booze and again hops dont show up.
I suspect the peanut butter notes were bolder when first bottled, but this is still a solid imperial stout.

Perfect example of an American Coffee Stout.
Roasty, the mouthfeel is thiccboi, smells like a double espresso.
Taste like cocoa, fudge , vanilla, bitter coffee and dark berries.
I've had a few of these TH Coffee Stouts and im looking forward to Quad Shot.

I was surprised to see this at the beer store today, I had no idea this was coming. I only bought a single but I'm headed back for the $14 4-pack.

First and foremost this is classic Storm King, which I have not had in a very long time. The coffee is noticeable up front but that ashy char I remember so well wipes it away at the finish. The coconut is even more subtle but noticeable at the edges. Good stuff priced right.

Been almost exactly a year since I've had Totalitarian so i can't say.
What i can say ,since its been less than 6 months or so since i had IRS, is that it aint tastin like IRS.

Still worth buying if ya come across it, it's VERY similar to Narwhal to my palate

If you've never i think its worth trying once.
I wouldn't want one again but that's because of the big Semi Sweet Chocolate flavor. I like 70% Dark Chocolate bitter flavor in my stout . It's personal preference.
If i gave it an unbiased rating its easily an overall 4.25
I'm the wrong person to ask about pastry/dessert stouts
I didn't enjoy it but i kinda knew that when i bought it. too much goin on with the flavors .
it costs 7 dollars at the brewery which isnt bad. i wouldnt go out of my way for it

I enjoyed the Camp Blanket much much more.

Recently grabbed 4 cans of Parabolita, have had one. Personally, I'm glad I tried it, and can sit on the others and look forward to enjoy them. Have never tried Parabola... To my knowledge (it may have snuck in at a beer bar years ago)

Interesting how palates differ. I found this batch to be superior both based on coffee notes as well as the real “fudge” taste that seems to be dominant. Such is life.
