I read that as , "im about to cut into it with the second wife" and went Hell Yea!
Single bottles for 40 dollars?! Yikes. AFAIK Mine was kept at 55° since 2017 . 0 oxidation .
@Beersnake1 I haven't had a BCBS in 2 years( i had one at a friends viewing, but don't count that cuz i was 3 BA Bombers of other beers in) and this one was ...Great.I can see why they are hyped. Barrel presence coming through extremely well, notes of semi sweet chocolate, caramel and vanilla . Light notes of milk powder( not in a bad way) that reminded me of hot chocolate.
Fucker was a smooth drink for the ABV.
Wouldn't pay $40 dollars for one ever so don't feel bad @VodkaPong87 it's not worth that.
Pipeworks Coconut Phantom Unicorn BA Imp Stout. If you like coconut
nah. She knows there will be no second wife. I have opted for a bunch of concubines.

This and that Privyet(sp?) always look tempting!
I wish I can try all the variants and barrels... Privet base stout for this one... abv dif 11% to 14%
Prompted by @Resistance88 and his recent bottle, I decided to open my last 2012 Bourbon County. In fact, this is also my last small bottle. This was purchased by me and stored in cellar conditions since new. Bottled just over 10 years ago.
The nose is quite different from when fresh. Very strong bourbon, a touch of soy sauce, and some chocolate. Fairly one-dimensional, and definitely dominated by bourbon. The taste is MUCH better than the nose. Big roasted malts, toffee, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, a bit of coffee, dark fruit, and some brown sugar. Very nice, but totally different from fresh. Interesting experience.
Glad to hear this one still retained some dignity! Cheers!
what camera do you use for these
you better NOT say iphone
I was wondering the same thing! And, worried about the cat.
sazerac rye whiskey barrel-aged black magick from voodoo. really enjoyed this one. the rye barrels were a great fit for the black magick base stout. cheers!
Getting ready for Friday. This is the best vintage I’ve had (2016-2021). Hearing good things about 2022
I've got a Black Magick Variant that I need to drink soon.
i would guess you’ll like them. not at all sweet, more earthy and never any shortage of barrel. thick and sturdy. good stuff.
Canon eos 60d + glass canon 50mm f1.4
Very nice tasting glass my friend!
Attended a birthday party on Sunday for my wife's aunt about 50 miles south of home. Across the street was a Binnys.....lo and behold they had Ten-Fidy and Narwhal on the shelves.......the local Binnys (I have 3) have told me it wasn't brewed this year, or they can't get it.......I know they were brewed......
Yesterday's Imperial Stout
Today's Imperial Stout!
I'm a happy camper!
IMHO, it's better!
Enjoying a Jackie O's Negro. Excellent BBA Stout with adjuncts i totally enjoy!
So! While posting this over in the Pumpkin Beer Appreciation thread, it dawned on me that it just might antagonize some of my friends over here. And I’m far short of my quota this week.
Warlock - Southern Tier
This is a fun beer, and used to be a favorite within the Pumpkin Beer style.
Nice roasted malt mixed with graham crackers, gingerbread, and cinnamon. It has a café laté aroma that tastes like black coffee and barker’s chocolate. The mouthfeel is somewhere between velvet and whipped cream. At 8.6% abv, it seems a bit light, but then again the label clearly states, “Imperial Pumpkin Stout.”
Brooklyn Brewery Black Chocolate Stout - Pours a dark black with a nice creamy, chocolate-y head. Smell is just a tad sweet (mostly from the alcohol) and it reminds me of dark chocolate or baker's chocolate. Taste is delicious, velvety smooth, dark chocolate, a touch sweet from the alcohol but not too much and ends on the drier end. But 10%, where!? Not boozy at all and dangerously drinkable for as big as this beer is.
I have yet to come across an IS that I didn't like and this is no exception. This would age well but I can't imagine the flavors getting much better than now, as this isn't a hoppier Imperial Stout that would benefit from some mellowing. Budmo!
definitely on the sweeter side and the adjuncts cover up the barrel until it gets right at room temp, but highly enjoyable. cheers!
The Alchemist - Luscious. I'm glad I picked up two 4-packs of this when I was at the brewery. I had never had before, but it's a great example of the style - huge aroma and flavor of dark cocoa, touch of smoke, molasses, and black licorice. not overly sweet, and silky smooth viscous mouthfeel.

The Infamous MacArthur Park at sunset
Great minds. My first thought was the song, not that version, but still.
Indeed! I never knew how multi- talented the original Dumbldore was!
Is that really the same guy? That’s cool.
Yep. He was Dumbledore in the first two movies. He also was Marcus Aurelius in Gladiator amongst many other roles!
Blackened Liver Friday (BLF).
Currently smoking my liver
Willetized 2020. Drinking like the champ it is.
night cap. 2022 Half Acre Benthic. think i liked the vanilla a bit more but this is still solid. coconut kind of covers up the coffee but it’s really quite balanced between the two additives and the barrel. cheers!
