This is an event I've been working on organizing in conjunction with Chad and his team at Crooked Stave, and Viceroy Snowmass (located near Aspen) for awhile. It's the weekend before GABF, so it could be a way to make the week of beer drinking even better! This is one of the best weekends of the year in Aspen because all the leaves will be golden. All details at the link above. Hope to see some BAs in the hills!

Oooh, happy birthday to me! (Too bad it's a zillion dollars)

It's not inexpensive...but when you consider it's two nights of accommodations, a killer cellar-reserve list from Crooked Stave (see below), and two nights of events (an opening event with beer and food, and a ten-course beer dinner Saturday), it's actually a very good price.

Also, stay tuned for details on a giveaway of tickets to the entire weekend for two...

    Beer List:
    FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26TH

How much extra are the seminars?

Still finalizing pricing for the seminars. Should have that info in the next week. They won't be a big investment though - some killer beers being brought via Chad/Crooked Stave.

So, for anyone who wants to attend this event (but doesn't want to shell out the cash), there's a giveaway for two tickets via The Weekly Pint: https://www.facebook.com/weeklypint?sk=app_211058802266771&app_data=34722.

Also of note - we're going to be offering the individual components of the event at a la carte pricing - example: want to attend the 10-course beer dinner, you can just pay for that event...it will be approximately $150/person. The brewery welcome reception with Chad will be $75/person. As you can see...it's not much more per person to just pay for the whole weekend (including accommodations), but here it is a la carte so there's that option.

As far as the individual seminars with Chad - we're still working on pricing, but beers will include Casey Saisons (likely the regular version and cherry).

How did this event turn out? I'm curious. Did any BA's go?

The Blaugies, what was it? Saison d'Epeautre, La Moneuse, Darbyste? Would have loved to have heard Yakobson (and Casey?) talking about this brewery, one of my favorites...

Here's a pretty good recap of the weekend:http://ski.curbed.com/archives/2014...inaugural-crooked-stave-beer-weekend.php#more

The beer was pretty insane. I can confidently say I've never had so much Cantillon Kriek at one time in my entire life - it was wonderful.

Chad is a hell of a speaker. I definitely foresee him selling these sort of seminars specifically to brewers in the future. There were fellow brewers in attendance, and I think they reaped the most benefits from nerdy parts of the discussions, but his knowledge of beer; specifically, saisons and wild beers (as he insisted on calling what many refer to as sours) was well received by everyone.

Good mix of people in attendance from all over the place. Good start for a first year event - next year could include more breweries...sort of a combination rare beer drinking event and seminar session event with intimate time with world-renowned brewers/breweries.

The 10-course beer dinner was pretty insane. I was full for two days. The outdoor environment was pretty outstanding as well - I think everyone who attended also spent a lot of time out enjoying the trails.
