how is the parking situation around the brewery?

They have a pretty big parking lot there and there should be a good amount of street parking near there if they fill up… that would be a ton of people tho.

Just a big courtyard. It's actually steps down towards the bottom of the picture where there is then an elevated place. Looks like a stage and then tables and what not in the courtyard area.

Have a co-worker there now....45 minutes to get a table, beer line is "super long".....

Very busy, all the tables were full and a huge line for stragglers to grab a beer. I had one, grabbed some merch and left. They could use at least one more walk up spot at the bar to grab a beer at the least.

surly was smart not having anything sought after on tap for the opening (like abrasive, darkness, etc). it was a madhouse the way it was, imagine if 350 people all wanted suck off the same teat.

I'm at Surly now. The lines for beer look long but move fast. The upstairs especially is not crowded at all (but they aren't serving beer upstairs today). It's surprisingly comfortable so far and not nearly as chaotic as I feared. Parking may be an issue, as you may have to park a few blocks away despite the large (but full) parking lot. The tables downstairs are full and there is a wait, so if you are looking for food, you may get frustrated. I expect it to get crazier after people leave work. The space is huge and looks great; it's a legitimate destination brewery for sure.

There are 3 huge bars upstairs and they will be pouring beer tonight and this weekend. New glassware is nice too.

Got there around 3 and was told it might be 1- 1 and a half hours for seating. It ended up only taking 10 min. Really nice looking place.

Didn't count, but guessing there is easily room for 30 bicycles, and only about seven there today at noon. Plenty of room until the weather turns cold :stuck_out_tongue:

They had an impromptu abrasive release! In can, on premises consumption, 1 per person. Upstairs bar. There was plenty when we left at 630. Canned today. Om nom.

What is the price point at the taps? Also, has anyone checked out the stainless steel pint glasses yet? I kind of like those.

Prices are reasonable. Ran about $5.50 per glass, and that was for Eight, Doomtree and Damien.

Yup $5.50 per glass of eight (12oz) but that's after tax.

I think those were 10 oz pours, but still a good deal. Jealous about the Abrasive release.

They are at capacity, so there's a line "waiting" to get in, as people leave...

0/2 as I tried at 12:40 today, but there was an hr and 45 min waiting list for a table :slight_frown:

Guess I'll go next week when things calm down... Added bonus, the new brewery only 2.6 miles from my work!

The beer line is significant but the wait for Abrasive upstairs was only about 5 minutes...

@wuuin you're right they were 10oz pours. Same ~11oz glasses they used at the BC taproom. I was thrown for a loop because coffee bender was served in the same glassware (so 10oz per pour too).

I was gonna wait til my birthday party in Feb, but once word of Abrasive got out I hopped on the Green Line and checked it out. Massive destination brewery. Freshest Abrasive I have ever had. And the bone marrow with guajillo is to die for.
