Is Pliny the Elder available in the San Mateo area in a bottle? Also, possibly Orinda/Walnut Creek?

Everywhere that gets Pliny, will sometimes run out, before the next delivery.

They come in on Thursday afternoons, and are gone by the time they close.

The web site didn't list the K&L in Redwood city, only San Francisco. Have you seen it in Redwood City?

Yes, but as mentioned it runs out quickly. Your best bet is to go to SF and pick some up.

You are going to have a much easier time getting it in the East Bay. RR uses a distributor for the Peninsula/South Bay. In the East Bay, RR self distributes so they ship out more product much more often. Try Jackson's Wine and Spirits, Diablo Foods, or Whole Foods in Lafayette (in between Orinda and Walnut Creek). Jackson's sister stores, Monument Wines in Concord and Moraga Wines in Moraga are also good choices.

K&L sends out email notices, and runs out within an hour now. Their stock is pre-purchased online.

There isn't a place on the peninsula with a consistent stock.

There is no distribution between San Francisco and the South Bay. Russian River self distributes from the North Bay to San Francisco, then DBI distributes it from Menlo Park going South. K&L gets in because they order through their SF/Hollywood locations and then ship them down. Any accounts in the Peninsula are either "illegal" or transferring inventory (which I believe is a grey legality loophole).

    kiki3drt292 and jtmartino like this.

In Moraga, try Moraga Wine & Spirits and in Lafayette, try Jackson's Wine & Spirits (owned by the family as Monument in Concord).
