If it wasn’t for the fact that New Belgium sold out to Kirin (under the guise of Lion) I would think that BrewDogs owns them. This crap is the sort of stuff I would envision that both James Watt and Martin Dickie would circulate for free publicity.

And for completeness I am not proud of myself for ‘participating’ in this stuff. :flushed:

    Non-cheers to brewery hijinks!!

Oh god, no. Even as a marketing stunt, how does this help the brand?

So you post a pic on Instagram with a hazy Ranger ipa and your action figure.

If that’s the case then Voodoo Ranger is the Joe Camel of craft beer.

No, they are not really coming. However, please visit Mad Fritz which is amazing brewery already in Napa Valley (St Helena). I was lucky and found them three years ago and am a member of their club. Wonderful people and great beer.

Sounds like another idea from the fine folks who brought you the Jamaican Bobsled Team.

Or maybe it's April 1. I forgot to check.

I grew up at Action park and it’s not able to be replicated. Change the name!

    Enjoy

NJ's first "craft" brewery, the Vernon Valley Brewery, was at the notorious Action Park.

Yeah, they seem to already be on that trajectory. Have you seen those cringey Voodoo Ranger cartoon commercials?

Just think, you might spend the afternoon at Voodoo Ranger IPA Action Park, rest up a bit, and hit The French Laundry for dinner....I'd bet the old line Napa folks are aghast.

I can't even begin to conceive of how disgusting an ipa wave pool would be.

Just the anouncement generates publicity which is probably the point.

I think there is a reason the Voodoo Ranger "brand" is marketed separate from New Belgium.

It is wild to me just how much they have catapulted off of the Voodoo Ranger IPA branding into all these variants and seasonals... all started from Ranger IPA. An all-Cascade hopped IPA that I think many of us who remember is being positively middle-of-the-road. I had a single pint and never revisited. Now there's a skeleton mascot, social media, a fake theme park... If it would have been Mothership Wit, maybe we would have had an alien encounter by now!

Personally, I remember Ranger as the best hoppy beer from New Belgium. I always felt like it compared favorably to SNPA. Used to drink a lot of it.

Never could get into the Voodoo iterations

I lost a few yards of skin on the Alpine Slides! Let's not mention the Wave Pool!

Bizarre. People are evidently paid to think this stuff up, hire the "protesting" actors, write and pay for the announcement, the newspaper ads, etc. Where is the return on investment here? After pranking Napa, the community should turn around, find it all terribly amusing, and out of curiosity or gratitude or love buy New Belgium beer? Hoaxing the community to alter its buying patterns--sounds like a technique that has been more often used, successfully at least, in political persuasion.

I remember shopping in Seattle some years ago (2015) and looking at various beers in a supermarket cooler. A very nice young man came up, started a conversation, and when I mentioned I was from PA, told me about New Belgium (which was not distributed in PA at the time), how it was owned by the workers, the different beer styles, etc. It seems that, under corporate ownership, New Belgium has moved into a different phantasmic universe.

I don't think they were trying to corner the Napa market. I imagine it was supposed to draw attention to the brand by generating conversations like this

Well this sounds like something I would hate.
But whatever! I am an old guy..I am sure thousands would be enthusiastic.
But kudos..kinda. To New Belgium..I am seeing more 6 packs of Trippel in stores. First time in a decade.
Perhaps they are reading our posts..so go out and buy.
    I will
