I have been notorious since I was a child for my hatred of fruit.
Last thing I ate was an orange at 12 years old that my dad paid $10 to see.
    Something about the texture...

That being said, I loved the stuff till I was almost 6. I don't mind artificial flavors and know what to expect if som
    ething is "grape" or "cherry".

Naturally I dislike fruit beers, but sours and lambics are growing since a good friend is so persistent.
But I didn't mind Dry Dock's Apricot ale for free.

    • Short's Freedom of '78
    • DFH Aprihop
    • Short's Soft Parade
    • Dark Horse Tres Blueberry Stout
That would be right off the top of my head, and I'm really particular about fruit beers.
    (notice a trend against sweetness)

I thought that Terrapin Maggie's Peach Farmhouse Ale is quite good.

Aphrodite - a 9% raspberry and pear beer made with brett B. Delicious and underrated here.

Have you had it lately? I swear it's getting sweeter with age.

That's extremely unusual, typically beers get more sour with age as any active bugs continue to eat sugar, making the beer seem more sour (and potentially also making more of the sour flavors, but it depends on the bugs). I've never heard of anything getting less sour and know of no mechanism by which it could happen, though I'm by no means an expert here.

    Two very good ones.

I'm not sure why the OP tosses out sours/lambics (and throws in the "well crafted" preface???) since Fruits by nature produce sour notes in the fermenting process.

This discussion came up recently at work, we settled on Dark Horse Tres Blueberry Stout and DFH Aprihop as the best ones we've had, collectively.

DFH Forte. And at 18%, it ages quite well

Gotta agree. Samuel Smith's Organic Fruit Beers are exactly what you expect them to be on the nose & in taste (no surprising hoppiness nor underlying sourness)...the archetype of a fruit beer.

I passed up on a couple four packs of this today because I don't like Cerise. Perhaps I should reconsider.

However, at the Founders Brewpub the bartender mixed me several interesting combinations as simple as Cerise and Porter, which were delicious.

It was Fathers day and I was pretty drunk, but it was sweeter than I remember and definitely not sour.

I like some blueberry ales. Bar Harbor is good as is Boston Beer Co. Blueberry Ale on a hot day before a sox game. It's all about the setting.

Widmer Rasperry Russian impy stout. Love this beer. Its such an easy drinking impy with some great roasty coffee notes and they don't overdo the Rasperry. Just cross out "imperial" and think of it as a nice regular stout with a bit of balls, and it is one of the best!!

When I lived in GR I was excited when Cerise out on tap, you mix Cerise with Godiva chocolate liquor then you wake up the next day with diabetes, a hangover and a smile on your face.

Apple Ale is phenomenal. My wife's favorite beer, and one of the better ones I've had in the last year.

Best fruit beer I've ever had was the Kuhnhenn Raspberry Eisbock. Liquid raspberry Tootsie Roll Pop. No hint of the ABV. Just plain ridiculous.

    Other good ones I've had:

    Ithaca Apricot Wheat
Jackie O's South Paw (and Funky South Paw for that matter)
    Jackie O's Razz Wheat
    Jackie O's Orange Oak
    Liefmans Cuvee Brut

Serendipity is NOT as sweet as their other fruit beers? Holy shit.. remind me to never drink a Belgian Red or Raspberry Tart then. It may be well crafted and all... but Serendipity was about 3 times too sweet for me.
