Lime is a fruit, last I checked. The Bud Lite w/ lime beer thang is not bad, if you have worked up a thirst all day in a house that is at least 15 degrees hotter inside than the 95 degrees outside registers.

Sam Adams Cherry Wheat is a perfectly good fruit beer. I don't understand the hatred.

Wailua Wheat from Kona Brewing Company is also a pretty good one.

Dry Dock Apricot Blonde has that WOW factor.

I like fruit beers and there are a lot of good fruit beers but few are really stunning beers because the fruit tends to overwhelm the subtle flavors in the beer.

This is a style that I have definitely neglected, but have recently had some stellar offerings.

Short's Soft Parade, In the Wheat of Passion, Schnozzleberry Griffin, Freedom of '78
Founders Rubaeus (and I liked Cerise Cherry as well, but only ever had it on tap)
    Perrin Two Faced, Razz Wheat

and for weirdest, but most surprisingly good beer - Spear Beer, an asparagus beer from Right Brain. Delish! (yea I know, asparagus is a vegetable but since they're listed in a common category, thought I'd include it)

And FWIW, I was not a fan of the SA Cherry Wheat - very medicinal to me. But to each his/her own!

wish there was a dislike jawn to click on. seriously though, that linenmann's lambic stuff is truefire, but it's low in abv and expensive, but all women like it; and really all dudes do too. if you want a BEER beer, go for a mango IPA. Also, I also had some pineapple beer in a can this summer that tasted like carbonated pineapple juice, and it was perfect to have a couple during a game of ultimate frisbee or whatever this summer. I forgot who brews it though. I'm sure with some searching you could find it; there can't be a bunch out there. I haven't seen it since college (10 yrs ago) but pyramid apricot ale is hella good if you can still buy it. It's all in your face with a bag a of sundried apricots. Let me know what you think if you can find the apricot one; it really is the shit.

If you live within a few hours of Selingsgrove, PA, the Selin's Grove Brewpub's excellent Peche Saison is on right now. New Glarus doesn't distribute here to PA, but I hear good things. Samuel Smith's Kriek is superb.

    Samuel Smith's Apricot
Described and tasted "exactly like eating a Harry & Davids fresh apricot" but as a beer. Get ready to be shocked!

My favorite fruit beer would have to be Otto's apricot wheat. My personal opinion is that it blows all other apricot beers out of the water.

I’ve had a few good fruits beers, but nothing that ever floored me.

I’m not a beer purist by any means, but I could definitely live a happy and contented life without ever sampling another fruit beer.

I know it catches a lot of hate on here, despite its rating, but I think Founders Rubaeus is quite tasty during the summer months. Warning: Only drink it if you *really* like raspberries.

oh, btw, many fruity things I didn't like. There was a cantillion raspberry that wasn't bad (and that's coming from a person who generally detests sours).
    Rubaeus I found fairly undrinkable.
Believe it or not, the dreaded watermelon brew I found to be fairly decent (as long as it's 95 degrees with high humidity and the can is super cold)

    This. /thread

Seriously tho, local brewery in Pittsburgh makes something called Hala Kaliki (Rivertowne from Pittsburgh, think its the one with the e on the end) and it tastes like pineapple with bud light mixed in. God awful. In their defense apparently the kegs have real fruit in them so it may be better. But either way, new glarus blows them out of the water, raspberry tart, vsb, apple ale, belgian red...end of discussion imo
