Wish I'd known this yesterday when I cracked FBS, SN Stout, LH Milk Stout and a Guiness Foreign Extra. Maybe I'll do that whole rotation again tonight....

Got plenty of stouts in the cellar. Thought about Tart of Darkness but it's an American Wild Ale and doesn't count for, um, things on certain social beer websites.

There's also a Southern Tier tap takeover in my town tonight. Might just go down the whole ST stout portfolio tonight.

I have a yeti that I wanted to sit on a little longer, but I think today might warrant it.

I do have a beer camp oatmeal and a heavy seas peg leg in the fridge, but I'm hoping I can go to the store and get a growler of something good later today.

On a Thursday? I don't think I'll have time to drink tonight. International stout day will be postponed until tomorrow for me.

I took a walk to Coastal Wine and Spirits here in Branford, CT this morning in honor of the occasion. It was approximately 3.5 miles round trip on mostly snow covered sidewalks (grrr) and well worth it to pick up a 4 pack of Young's Double Chocolate Stout and a bottle of Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout. I am now set to enjoy the holiday and the footy.

Most likely the Stone/Iron Fist/Ken Shmidt Mint Chocolate Imperial Stout, but I also have this Stone Belgo Anise RIS staring me in the face. Maybe I'll roll a die to determine which one I actually end up drinking.

Starting with a Hawkshead Dry Stone Stout. A 4.5 ABV oatmeal stout (cask) which had that burnt porridge flavour I like in an oatmeal stout. I'm clearly getting too used to export and imperial big stouts as it felt a bit light - remember when 4.5 was a fairly normal stout ABV?

Have some Old Ford Export Stout from Redchurch and Old Chimneys Good King Henry Special Reserve 2010 in the fridge for later...

About to crack open my last KBS, then onto a BCBS. Maybe a Cognac Impy Sweet to cap it all off.

Stouts are awesome but having a lot of the heavy ones at one time can get a little cloying, I always ameliorate that effect with a nice IPA!!
