Darn another disappointed MD drinker here. I just realized I haven’t bought any Weihestephaner beers in quite a while. I noticed their 6 pack pricing has gone up more substantially in the last 12 months or so compared to other brewers (most of their sixers used to be $10.99 and now they are $13.99 and Vitus has jumped up to like $16.99 a Sixer. That’s probably why I’ve been passing them by but also the fact Von Trappe and Jacks Abbey has been distributing in state as well.

This seems like some remarkably regionally relevant news. I'd love to try some Jack's Abbey some day

When I saw this in my e-mail this morning, I began planning the day trip to Framingham. It's a burden, but for the sake of science, I'll make the sacrifice.

You can always take each brewery's Oktoberfest and blend them I suppose...

Got to find those "atypical" hops to run the beers thru a randalizer.

This is becoming a very complex tailgating experience.

Sure - and to stock up! It's been a couple years since we last visited so that's way overdue. Plus distribution seems to be a relative term at times - a lot of "released to distribution" haven't made it 40 miles south of town.

Most of my Oktoberfest money goes towards purchasing Sly Fox Oktoberfest. That beer is excellent IMO.

    Cheers!

Was bummed to see it won’t be hitting NJ but lucky for me I’ll be dropping my daughter off at UNH in late August so should be able to find it somewhere. Hopefully.

I like Left Hand's and Von Trapp's Oktoberfest.

As far as PA goes, I stick with Neshaminy's Creekfestbier.

How exciting! BTW, I loved Sierra Nevada's collaborations with Weiheinstephan -- both the festbier and the glorious, smoky (I guess phenolic would be the more precise description) hefeweizen.

That really was a great collab (Braupakt) -- I guess it should remind me that traditional and modern can be mixed well in the right hands.

Yeah, there were American as well as German hops in that one, weren't there? And it was somewhat strong for the style. I loved the stuff.
