Jeff O'Neil Starting Industrial Arts Brewing Co. in Rockland, NY

I was at As Is NYC today and the bartender was really cool. His name was Adam and knows a lot about the local beer scene in NY and NJ. Helped that no one else was there around 3:15. He was telling me about Jeff and how they have their own canning line and should be up and running in the spring. Also told me about Suarez and was cool to hear how he knows the guys at OH and how they got funding (by collating with Peekskill). Very cool place, As Is, and had a great draft list.

 

Ya, Suarez has a collab in the works with OH: mixed fermented oak-aged sumac. Dan has also done a collab with Greg from Threes, and has even held events with Plan Bee, Sloop, Bacchus, and Kent Falls (e.g. Beer Belly). "half of our production will be mixed fermentation farmhouse type beers that will be ripened in oak for 1-2 months, or 1-2 years. It will be very blend heavy and I want that to be our bread and butter. But the other half of production will be split evenly between unfiltered lager beer and other assorted session ales... 'impression beers' versus 'drinking beers' and between the session ales, the lagers, and the mixed fermentation beers my goal is to make them all be 'drinking beers.'"

i live in the bronx near the metro north so going to peekskill is insanely easy for me but google maps showed no route up there was going to get a non beer drinking friend to give me a lift up there worst comes to worst

 

Was there last night for the first time since ( it was my bday and wanted to avoid the st paddy crowd at all cost saw they had the best tap list) overall loved that bar will try to become a regular! insanely surprised by the cheap beer prices nothing more expensive then 8 bucks?!?!? cant beat that

 

i know sloop and jason from bacchaus are really close friends, i think they will be collabing more when jason goes to hudson valley

 

Any updates on the status of this place?
