Looking to try some new IPA/DIPA's. My taste is for juicy, fruity, tasty brews similar to Lagunitas Sucks. I've had Sip of Sunshine recently which was super. Any and all suggestions are appreciated! I am in CT so hard to get Cali beers here. :slight_frown:

My man. I too am from Connecticut. If you're willing to drive around a little bit, I went to Tree House Brewing right over the border in Mass and got Green just last week, its great. They're only open on Thursday and Friday from 5-8 so you have to time it up. Then I recommend going to Other Half Brewing in Brooklyn, pretty much everything they make is awesome. But, again, funny hours. I think they're open Thur-Sat like afternoon to evenings. Beard Brewing in Stonnington makes really cool and creative IPAs. Black Hog Ginga Ninja is awesome and usually available, and if you see Piglet from them take it, it's their Double, they're located in Oxford. And like other people said, Sea Hag and Ghandi Bot from New England are really great and that brewery is in Woodbridge. Lots of options.

In liquor store keep your eyes open from Space Cake and particularly Lemon Drop Space cake (CT only release), they just came out and are fresh.

Probably not new to the OP, or anyone but me, but I just popped my Double Trouble cherry last night, and it was a nice faceful of juicy pineapple and citrus (with some nice dank pine behind that). Wasn't too sweet, either. Very impressive IIPA.

How do you define juicy? I'm seeing quite a broad spectrum of recommendations to be honest.

I define juicy as literally almost tasting like a orange juice or tropical mixed drink. Sucks feels more citrus in a hoppy sort of way. Others out there are literally juicy. You may just get every ipa recommendation around. We do perceive things differently.

Todd the Axeman by Surly right off the top of my head. And one from a smaller brewery actually Ode by Castle Danger. Oh and I finally got my hands on Toppling Goliath Pseudo Sue, I'd definitely try that one out.

The other night the new SN Hop Harvest surprised me - interesting hop profile. But after that, Resin tasted particularly juicy for some reason. Always love Resin.

18th Street IPAs and DIPAs are pretty much always tropical and juicy. I had Sinister recently. Not their GREATEST, but still damn good.

I'll second Todd The Axe Man from Surly. Hands down the juiciest IPA I've had all year. A true masterpiece. It's the best use of both Mosaic and Citra together I've ever experienced.

Oh....and King Sue from TG is a tropical juice bomb.

You really can't go wrong with #25, #26 and #27 on the Top 250 Beer List. Top 250 Beers

I know it's technically listed as a "pale ale" but Green Street from Trillium/Other Half was just about the juiciest I've had in a while. Excellent stuff!

Honorable mention: Captain's Daughter, Todd the Axeman (just got some in a trade and LOVED it)

This is a very important question. I remember that I recently had a very highly regarded IPA that I had heard for years described as juicy that did not fit my definition of juicy. It was rather disappointing.

There is no definitive and unambiguous definition for the term "juicy". What some folks are posting as recommended "juicy" beers is totally subjective to their personal palates.

    Cheers!
