I paid $28.99 in Chicago + their ridiculous 9.5% tax + shipping. I paid $12.99 for Fra-gee-lay at Whole Foods. Just because it can be found for $19.99 or $21.99, doesn't mean everyone paid that price.

Wow, that's some crazy stuff. I was buying in MI and IN for a comparable bargain.

You got a good deal on the Frageelay. It's been going b/t $14 and $16 most places.

This beer was a huge letdown. It lost all of the spice that makes Yule great and didn't pick up any barrel character. I think it needed to sit in the barrels much longer.

To me Yule is a better beer and much better value.

Who does Karbach sourse their Bourbon Barrels from? I know Ranger Creek uses their own barrels, 512 uses Jack and Makers, Saint Arnolds uses Woodford.
I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere on here and I couldn't find the information on their website. Just curious if anyone has information.

For Hellfighter, they did some with Makers and some with Buffalo Trace. Not sure what they used for this one.

I saw some really overpriced (about $20) at Walgreens on Washington & Studemont a few days ago, and I saw someone tweet that there's more at the Kroger on Studemont and I-10.

    WALGREENS?!

Gez, our freakin' drug stores need to up their game in ATX. The best thing they've got is Shiner and maybe some New Belgium.

I found none at Kroger there and $20 is close to double

Agree that the beer did not pick up the barrel character.

I left Kroger (the new one on Studewood south of I-10) about an hour ago and they had half a dozen bottles of Fra-Gee-Lay in the cooler endcap.
