    A) It's pretty damn disrespectful IMO to call stores searching for a limited beer when you don't shop there, let alone when you don't even live in the state.

    B) None of the stores are going to have KBS for you - not a single one is going to say "sure, I'll have it at 11:05 AM on 4/1 and will put it on the shelves then". They either have a waiting list that's already full or they're selling the beer to good customers that frequent their store.

    C) I'm sure you can trade for some with limited Jester King or the like, so focus on the beer you can get and leave the Cleveland KBS for Cleveland BA's to buy and drink if they like or trade

I'll have about 9-10 people total; about 1/2 of that will be our wives who aren't all "that interested" in bottle sharing, but it's still too large a group for me to assume would be ok to go to someone's house.

As mentioned above, we're staying at the Beaumont Inn (2151 Holton Ct. Walker, MI - ~10min from Founders), spoke with the hotel and was told we could use one of their conference rooms (cost ~$100 for the room & holds about 40 people) for a bottle share. They'd set up tables & chairs for us as well. If we all throw in a few bucks, it should cover it.

I could set that up for us if you'd want to go that route. If we'd rather meet somewhere else, I'm open for that too, but figured I'd offer this up since it's looking like there might be more than a handful of people for this.

    Cheers

I'm thinking this tasting could end up being 40+ people...Hmm.

I think its going to have to be at one of the downtown hotels.

Just got off the phone with the hotel and was told that the 40 person capicity was with all the tables & chairs.

So, if we decide to do it there; I'd imagine we could remove some chairs to accommodate more people if need be.

I'm thinking the way they would have it set up would be for 40 people seated at tables...I'm sure their room can handle more than 40 people standing room, we really don't need seats for everyone, or table places for everyone, really just a table for bottles and some space to take notes/etc. Maybe a dozen or so chairs so people can sit down for a while.
Just think of it as instead of waiting in line for KBS for 6 hours, you can stand in a heated room for 3 hours drinking nice beers.

Yeah this forum is ALL over the place. I started this thread to get a bottle share going as this is something i was going to miss at KBS day this year. "chpueblo22" has offered his place to 15 plp or so. And "saemick" has said we can reserve the hotel conference room and hold 40 plp!

I like the 15 plp idea as most likely everyone can taste from a bottle.. But i also like the 40 plp as a lot more bottles for everyone to try.

So maybe we get the first 15 plp to sign up go to Chpueblo house and the rest of you collect money and reserve the hotel and do it there.

I only see 14 or so that Actually said "I'm in for a bottle share" not counting friends or wives/gf they are bringing as Mules. and only 8 plp signed up on the Bottle Share Spreadsheet.

I'm have a very easy going personality we need someone with a strong personality to take over this thread and make a executive decision! : )

    Hello fellow BA's....

I am a good friend of SAEMICK. We along with a few others are staying at the hotel he mentioned. Since the forum is looking for a strong personality to take the lead here,(in the words of a great man) IT HAS BEEN DECIDED !
We will go ahead and secure the conference room(7pm to 11ish) for the bottle share, unless there are any objections.

I as well as SAEMICK will update the spreadsheet with what we, and others that are coming with will bring. There are approx 6 of us that will bring beer (not including mules).

The only question I have is this, are people OK with throwing down around $5 a person to help cover the cost of the room?

The group of us that are staying at the hotel will bring some crackers, pretzels and some water to wash glasses. Please make sure you bring a glass to sample from. Our Mules will also be bringing some home baked goods to snack on. If

Please weigh in on this as we would like to get a head count.

Thanks, and hope to see you all there!!!
    Cheers

Definitely interested and happy to toss in cash for the conference room. I'm coming up there with a group of 4 other people. Once I get a firm commitment from them on yes/no I or we will jump on the spreadsheet. Anyone who tags along with me will bring beer.

When does it typically hit the shelves in Chicago?

Yes! I will definitely throw down some money to help cover the cost of the room. I'll bring a big tray of taco dip as mentioned in the spreadsheet. Plus probably a few other things. Looking forward to this.
