I don't like giving business to other shops in RVA, but this will probably be the best bet for BA's to get KBS if they live in the Northwest part of the city. They haven't announced this yet, are going to later this week, the Total Wine on Broad St. will be having a release event for KBS on Saturday April 6th. Tickets will go on sale for bottles at 11 AM, with bottles being given out at Noon. Limit 2 bottles per person, they will be tasting other brews that day to make an event out of it, no word yet on how many cases they are being allocated. That's all I know, hope it was useful. Cheers

So we shouldn't expect any at C&K?

any idea if the other total wine location is doing something similar?

EDIT: I just called them, sounds like they are doing the same thing at the Southside location (robious road). Tickets around 11am for 2 bottles per. Interesting strategy...

My guess is they are already spoken for by regulars. Usually happens with the extremely desirable limited releases.

Unfortunately at CnK we have been told we are either not getting any, or getting 1 case max. We are not ones to split up four packs to charge higher prices for individual bottles, so yes unfortunately our best 6 customers, smh we have to try and please only 6, have already spoken for it. No word yet on total's pricing per bottle, i'd assume somewhere from $6-8, they don't usually price gouge at all, so hopefully $5 is a possibility being the beer retails for $20 a 4pack, hope i've been helpful.

ps I tried to reach out to whole foods to see if they were getting any or what their plan was, and got no response.

It has hit the city, CnK got NONE...awsome. Each once upon a vine got 3 cases and will be selling individual bottles, whole foods opted for none in order to secure the 1/6 keg they will be doing pints only for, and already discussed total's plan. Happy Hunting.

Vine North sold 4 packs, while South had a 2 bottle limit (may have given 4 packs to regulars/employees). There are two cases still allocated to a store, but I'm pretty sure they have been spoken for by employees and regulars. Though ATP, many peoples best shot will be both TW's unfortunately.

was Vine South forcing people to buy additional Founders 4/6 packs in order to get the KBS? I've always hated that policy of theirs... the big question is what random hole-in-the-wall bar/restaurants will get the kegs like last year. still crazy that Ipanemas and Patrick Henry got those kegs last year.

I picked up 2 bottles at Vine South - they weren't asking for additional founders purchases this year.

I see you NOVA dudes aren't swimming in KBS either...it is slim pickings across our state it appears. If I am lucky I'll come out with two whole bottles this year matching my take for last year.

I heard Kegs were going to Sedona & Don't Look Back in addition to the WF.

Unfortunately is the correct word. I'm not sure if waiting in a line to get a ticket to buy one bottle seems like a fun idea. Might as well as hit up Whole Foods to get a pint.

Yep. I'm inclined to drive by at 10:30, just to see how long the line will be. Hope it's not crazy, but given the hype around the beer I doubt that will be the case.
