Saw multiple threads in other regions showing KBS dropping today. Spoke with one local bottle shop that expects it to drop next week in Dallas, but wanted to see if you guys have any other info on this. Greatly appreciated!

I heard 64 cases total for Texas, low due to brewery upgrades in progress.

I heard that too, but someone else in a different thread said a staff member at Founders said they had more this year than last. Plus, if you listen to the people in California it sounds like that's where a huge allotment went.

I was at the release in Grand Rapids and I heard there was just as much if not a little more compared to last year. Also it is pretty awesome this year. Better than the past couple so if you strike out let me know and maybe we can work out a trade. (Houston)

They were in a cabinet under lock and key. Have to ask someone in the beer section to get it for you.

I'd agree with that. I know that my rep said he got all of TWO cases for his route and they were all pre sold by the brewery. Kinda sucks but sadly, it's kind of the norm.

Do they have a limit? I saw ONE beer I wanted to buy but I didn't want to drop $19.

Reading about the 2 bottle limits really makes me appreciate my small town grocery/bottle shop. I know I'll have a 4pk waiting for me on Monday for $18-$20.

I was able to find a few KBS this year, now I'm more interested in finding it on tap in central Texas. When are the kegs coming?

I picked ONE up at Mueller today. I believe it was their beer buyer that I met too. I've heard tales about him but he was super nice and beyond helpful. I believe I got the last one OR they had a 1 bottle limit. $4.99 was not bad AT ALL.

Was just vacationing in California and can confirm. Came home with a 4-pack since they were just sitting on shelves two weeks after it dropped. And IMO it is the best year of the three since it has been in Texas.

Ive only had two bottles of KBS, both from 2014. Thankfully, both were shelf finds. I drank one fresh, and one yesterday.

Im not one to usually be too let down because of hype. Some beers are better or worse than expected, but this was one of the the few that let me down. Maybe not a letdown, as I still enjoyed it. But I was very confused about what I had/have read about this beer.

Im hoping, as mentioned in some previous emails, that maybe there are off years. Just for my taste, many shelf beers here of similar style (local or not) are more enjoyable. I hope I run across another vintage so I can give it another try.

Founders has growing pains, IMO. The larger batches nearly always effects quality.

These 2 have been effected for sure. I have been drinking both of these for years and the depth of flavors are missing, still both good but not as good as some older vintages.

Picked one up at Whole Foods Champions on Saturday during their 2nd Anniversary party. I had the bartender set it up next to an Prairie Apple Brandy Noir i was getting also back behind the bar. Someone comes over and ask if they can have it, said they didn't get any this year. Let him have it, I hope he wasn't lying.
