I'm considering starting a chapter of Girl's Pint Out (http://www.girlspintout.org) in central Kentucky, and am trying to gauge interest. I know there are lots of female craft beer enthusiasts in the area, just not sure about the best way to reach out and get people involved. Between Louisville and Lexington, there are plenty of breweries and stores to visit, and unique brews to try. If you or anyone you know would be interested in attending something like this, or have any ideas on how to start a group and spread the word, let me know!
    Thanks!

There was an attempt last spring, I believe. There was even a twitter account for a Lexington chapter, but nobody could ever figure out who it was.

There is a female craft beer group in Lexington called Snobby Beer Bitches that seems to represent around town fairly well.

Oh awesome, I couldn't find anything when I searched. I'll look it up! Thanks.

Oh, don't be silly. Girlz don't drink beer. They can't grow the beards and don't usually wear the puffy jackets.

(Please don't throw things at my head. My lack of lumberjack beard fails to provide adequate protection.)

You've never seen my beard... But I didn't realize puffy jackets were required! I found the Snobby Bitches group on Facebook, thanks for the suggestion!

There's a BA member named barczar that is a beer judge and has a mass amount of knowledge and enthusiasm. Send her a message, she's in the know.

If you don't mind me asking, why does it have to be a womans only group? Why not start a group of just craft beer drinkers?

Well, two reasons mainly. One is that I am looking to meet other like minded females in real life and hopefully make friends. Second is that my husband (who isn't into craft) isn't entirely comfortable with the idea of me drinking high alcohol content beers around men I don't know. Make whatever assumptions you will based off those statements, but I love my husband and I love craft beer, so that seemed to be a good compromise.

Ha Ha. Nice response! Nothing wrong with an all ladies beer drinking group. Just makes things easier for all of us guys out there.

It's also a good option because a lot of 'beer groups' are married men whose wives might not be as keen about guys getting together to drink beer when suddenly a woman shows up. A married woman would be less threatening, but I'm sure a few guys can imagine their non-craft wives waving a woman down to their man cave to drink beer -- in their wildest fantasy only.
