Kern River CITRA back in November

This release won't be like previous ones. I really did not enjoy telling 100+ people that they could not get bottles. We will either go brown paper tickets or some sort of lottery (no charge for entering). Details still have to be worked out, but once they are we will let people know.

I may actually drive up for a Citra release! Great news! BPT!

 

Until I can actually buy a bottle or 2 of it (or any of their beers, for that matter) locally again I can't get too excited about the release. Love the beer, it's always been amazing, but too many good beers available around LB to head up for that insanity.

 

So no one knows about the scooter to Kernville in November? Dangerous? I'm coming from San Diego.

 

Could be snow, could be forest fires, could be perfect.

 

I might need some new tyres then. And some long pamts.

 

Damn, I thought the release would be safe. Are vehicles safe at the breweru? Also, throwing stars are easier to handle. Don't ask me how I know.

 

Yes, I was one of those 100+ people. You even ran out of stickers by the time I got to you!! But I still had a great time that day. Drank a sh*t load of world class beer and the food was outstanding, as always. Please use BPT. The lottery idea sounds like a possible cluster f&ck. Cheers!

 

I'm all for just releasing the beer without the fanfare. Just have it on draft one monday morning and let the word go viral. It makes people go crazy.

 

Comparing kernville to tenderloin, that is awesome.

 

I had to settle for pints the last time also. It was nice though to at least get have a few pints in June too.

 

location, location, location. it's all about the location and the atmosphere at the brewery/brewpub. and a bottle or two to take home. the first day (Friday) is the best day. thats when most of the hard core Citra fans come out and celebrate with other BA'ers the release of Citra and other hard to get beers during tastings of bottle sharing that other BA'ers bring. Last release in Feb was my first for Hopslam, Zombie Dust and Heady.

 

It is, in so many ways. Although I had a local chiquita stop in the KRBC parking lot in her station wagon during a Citra release, wondering what all the fuss was about. Then she offered to sell us weed butter.

So you were at the June DONG release?

 

We got there about 1hr before opening.. Some local lady spoke to folks behind the line saying that people already got their raffle tickets in early in the morning.. I was like please tell me its not true.. but yea it had to come to that.. I wish I had one more day to freaking stay for that release lol. Went there for the first time this year and soooo disappointed that me and 2 of my friends didnt get anything. I was reallly pissed till we went inside to eat and saw those tanks... and I was like ok I forgive you lol...

 

First day was the day to go?! Pffft. The Superbowl Sunday was the tits, man. Talk about all the best. You had a line that didn't have cutters and everyone was taken care of.

I think the first day is the worst. Second day was a bit better. Third was the best. Looking forward to the computer hating me with BPT, but it's a lot better system than the drive blindly up there and pray some hop heads didn't put out a shit ton of lawn chairs as their bros sleep in the motel next door.
