Wow, see my reply to the Stoddards thread. Although Kinsale was an OG craft beer bar that was sneaky as hell about. Did they sling a lot of Guinness? Sure, but they’d have random drops of great kegs and regular access to good beer. A great option to watch a game and drink good beer.

    2020 you are the worst.

    Wow, double whammy today. Ouch.

I'm now fearing for my favorite spot - the Publick House

I'd be slightly less concerned about TPH given that they have outdoor seating (at least for now) in a high traffic area with strong takeout options. I think the biggest issue for The Kinsale (and Stoddards) was location in downtown Boston/DTX as that area is a ghost town with the financial district working from home and/or no theater productions, etc.

Best place in town for Championship parades !! So living downtown as I have for most of my life, the 3 best places for craft beer selection: Gingerman, Stoddards, and Kinsale all gone due to this miserable virus and the associated shut downs.

Is there a link for Gingerman? Everything that I see online still says only temporarily closed.

Kinsale's sister restaurant in Cambridge, the Asgard, has closed as well <edit: just saw Todd posted a thread on that as well>. Lots of good memories at each watching various sporting events over the years, nice staff at both also.

What a blood-bath today. Seemingly the suburbs/far suburbs are being spared (places able to spread out, also to do good take-out biz) but Boston proper is just a disaster for restaurateurs.

Add today's recent news from the COVID-in-chief that no more PPP or stimulus until after the election, so expect more of these announcements as the weather gets colder.

Damn. Fond memories of meeting friends there for KBS on draft many years ago back when that was the hotness and scoring a single bottle was a feat.

Ha, yup, remember heading in late on their KBS tapping day once and missing out, but having another Founders on draft and chilling there.

Always an interesting tap list and WORLDS better than the crap nearby at Faneuil.

Great news, Asgard and Kinsale will reopen in the spring!

Cheers to landlords who can work things out with tenants!

"We shall live to see another day! Happy to announce that we have nice landlords and worked out an arrangement that will allow The Kinsale to reopen in Spring 2021 when all this nonsense is most hopefully over. It’s called hibernation, and it’s all the rage."
