I saw on Instagram today that Hollingshead in Orange has a 3 Pliny limit... haven’t been able to buy multiple bottles in years.

I spoke to the beer guy at a local shop about that this week. My specific question was, "Will the expansion mean the end of the 1pp Pliny thing?" He said that "rule" was always on a shop-by-shop basis, and that really the only instructions stores have ever been given is don't sell Pliny by the case. He says with the expansion not only are we going to see more RR (he highlighted Blind Pig specifically) but he's going to raise the number of bottles he'll sell customers if they ask. He might not publicize that, but sees no reason not to as he's already getting double the Pliny allotment he's gotten previously and expects it to increase even more in the future.

That’s not bad. Is it still kept outside on the floor in the cases?

Six packs of Blind Pig would be nice.

My local WF has had it pretty consistently lately with 2 pp limits - every time I ask they have it and apparently they now have 4 cases (but still 2 pp). I have to assume/guess that this is due to the expansion. But, sadly, no Blind Pig in sight.

Picked up two 6-packs of Celebration Ale at my local Ralph’s today. Bottled on 10/02. Tasting as good as ever.

So expensive tho, saw them at wine country today but couldn't persuade myself to spend that much. Is $55/60 a bottle really what they go for?

That seems to be roughly the general pricing since that is what I paid down here in san diego. I believe they were around 18ish euro at the source, but they were sold in a box of 12 with 8 of them being various A&G so, I am only guestimating the price.

Factor in whatever fee Shelton Bros puts on to import and then whatever fee the distributor that Shelton sends the bottles to in order to get them to the shops...and yeah...hefty price tag.

Yeah ditto what SDreaper said. $52-60 is standard-ish for both. Golden Blend and Framboos aren't released that often

I think Celebration has hit all over the South Bay. I was in Sprouts Redondo Beach last night and they had cases sitting up at the check out counters.

Yep, the floodgates seem to have opened . . . Pliny on the shelves at my local WF with no discernible limits.

Glad to see the pigster back, and also the arrival of STS Pils. Picked both up, and Pliny at Bradley’s in Tustin - still 1 per limit. We’ll see how that goes.

The amount of beer thats capable of being produced at the new Windsor facility could actually result in being able to walk into better bottle/retail shops and get your fill of Pig and Pliny as well as the more obscure " brewery only " bottling's of the past. This is perfect timing for a lot of us who love these beers and need more than the constant sludge of opaque beers.

    Cheers,

Didn’t see a San Diego locale thread but I guess this is close enough.

Picked up BCBS Orange/Cocoa, BC wheatwine, and BCBS from Country Wine and Spirits in Carlsbad this morning.

Hoping to find the coffee barleywine but happy with this find pre-black friday.

LB total wine had FO 3pp & Paisley 1pp last week. Stopped in with a friend to get some bourbon, saw what looked like BL on the counter where they keep the good stuff, joked about it being Sight & Mind, had to double take and couldn't stop thinking WTF. Also had BA Darkstar on the shelf.

Windsor still has a bunch of goodies from yesterday. Couldn't tell if he still had de garde but looks like most of the bottle logic survived.

The 3 I saw were The Blackberry, The Frais & The Purple.

Wasn't a tremendous amount of mark up either, as purple was only $18.99 w/ tax, and that's $18 at the brewery.

Back from my one or two times per year for beer at Trader Joe’s. I almost forgot that MT Accumulated Knowledge is in. 4pk cans.
Bonus > Fresh Swamii’s in 6pk (canned on 11-30). I think that’s the freshest Swamii’s I’ve come across so far.

I'll be in LA for 4-5 days next month for work. Staying in the Woodland Hills area and unfortunately won't have any time to hit up breweries. Is Mission Wine & Spirits my best bet for quality locals (hops/stouts/sours) in that area? Their Instagram looks super promising. Anything other bottle shops in that area worth checking out?

    TIA

If anybody is looking still, TW Redondo has about 4 bottles of Red Eye November and about 4 bottles of Darkstar November in the back cooler. Well, there is a bottle of DSN in the bourbon aisle because I’m an asshole and didn’t put it back in the cooler when I decided to get a bottle of bourbon instead of beer.
Have at it fellas. I bought none of them.
