Hey, BB! Thought of you today when I was in Loveland picking up some excellent beverages at LiquorMax and had the chance to chat with Crosling. So . . . it was nice to see you started the LNBA thread tonight.

Well, as to the beer I'm enjoying at the moment. To quote the Big Bopper, "Oh, baby, you KNOW what I like!"

So, kzoobrew, how does the current edition of B d M compare with the old version? Is it just as horsey and leathery, and dominated by brettanomyces? Loved that beer, then New Belgium's B d M tanks got infected with something and they had to discontinue it until they got things cleaned up. They issued some statements saying they would bring the beer back in a couple of years, but I've never seen it since. Wondering where you picked this beer up.

Lagunitas Hop Stoopid. Enjoying it, but I cannot f'ing wait to get a sixer of Nugget Nectar in my fridge. Also on tap tomorrow night. NUGGET NECTAR / BIGFOOT SEASON! Might be the best beer-time of the year.

I've got a 2010 bottle in the cellar I believe, I'm keeping it until my gf is back in the U.S. to enjoy a B d M suite: New Belgium, Ommegang, and a couple others. Underappreciated style . . . is the New Belgium B d M super musty-funky?

Brewed some Pale Ale and now I'm just relaxing with some Sam Adams Black Lager, not really in the mood for anything else tonight.

Well, yes, it WAS super musty-funky, at least in its former iteration. That aspect of it was, in my estimation, its most approbatious feature.

I'll see if I can find my old review of it, and post it somehow.

Meantime, I will be on the look-out for it, and ask around.

Was the To Ol good though? Haven't seen it yet in this area, though I have been following them for a while...

After doing these two "back to back to back," I will say I prefer the Ruthless Rye more... It is smoother & less astringently bitter,(to my personal taste) and has a creaminess to the body that the Founders Red's Rye lacks...That said, I enjoy them both immensely! (Especially fresh!)
