Late Night Beer Advocate- Thursday

    I have heard these two compared, so I thought I better find out for myself... Could it truly be? So this is my night:

    I had the following with supper tonight. (apologies for the crappy cel pics)

    What's this? A vanilla stout and a chocolate lager? Have I gone MAD!?

    Well, that doesn't look so bad. In fact I liked them better mixed than I did when I tried them separate. The vanilla stout just lacks the vanilla flavor it should have, whereas the chocolate lager feels a little too light in the body for what it is. But the darker malts in the stout really blend well with the chocolate in the lager. I'm almost tempted to see if I can pick up some more singles of these and have another one. The winter variety packs are still around in my area and are really cheap at this point.

    After goin out for some mexican with the wife I had a Lakefront IPA after I got home, I have now moved to a NB Ranger. I may have a Pearl Street Pale before bed or I may now only time will tell.

    Sharing Odell Footprint with the wife. Possibly cracking the DFH 75 minute IPA next but still hungover from Firestone Walker/Epic tasting last night. Couldn't stop drinking the Velvet Merkin!!
