Late Night Beer Advocate, Tuesday 6/12

Gonna be a Peruvian Morning in 25mins when I get off. Hoping the bottle that I have is a good one. If not, I'm sure some of the other tasties in my fridge can cheer me up.

 

Had some beers at the pizza joint with friend...I am toasty. Started with a New Belgium Lips of Faith Fresh Hops (not pictured), damn, it was beautifully hoppy, so fresh and clean, and finished as such. I can no longer find it in retail shops which pissed me off. Then moved on to a Sierra Nevada+Dogfish Head colab...it was sweet, but still pretty balanced and paired well with my eggplant parm. Then for dessert, a Williamsburg Alewerks Bourbon Barrel Porter...to be honest, all I tasted was Bourbon, so unless you are a huge bourbon fan, I'd pass on this one.

 

Chew on that sounds like a great name for a beer. Stout? Barleywine?

I drink to that could be another name for a brew.. /hint to the brewers on BA.

 

Drinking heavy this week in preperation for this weekend... got to make sure I am ready.

Trinity IPA to start things off...

 

Currently drinking a Ninkasi Radiant pale ale, meh, tastes a lot more like a lager than a pale, but still decent.

Kili Wit and Salmon! So happy cheap awesome salmon season is here! I'll just pretend I live in the pacific northwest.

 

Schlafly AIPA to start. Probably a Founders Dirty Bastard or Imperial Stout in the near future.

 

Drinking heavy=I thought, a boot.

 

Good luck with that. Apparently I'm in the minority on this one, but Cherry Wheat is one of my all-time most hated beers :-)

Started with a Saint Somewhere Athene, which to be honest did not live up to my expectations. It was good, but just didn't blow my socks away. And if I'm going to pay $11 for a bottle—I mean, I don't mean to sound entitled, but . . . I was just expecting something a bit more balanced and nuanced. Ah, well.

Few other options for later on tonight, including Ska Modus Hoperandi and Sixpoint Apollo. We shall see.

 

Enjoying an E. from Hill Farmstead with the wife. Really unique brew. Not sure what's next...maybe a Knee Deep Simtra.
