Deshutes Green Monster. Terrible.
Latest pour was an epic 4.5 gallons of a homebrewed DFH 90 Minute IPA that got oxidized somewhere along the way. Such a shame because it smelled incredible before the taste of old sherry and wet cardboard took over. A replacement batch is fermenting right along though!
this was without question the worst beer I've ever had. maybe tied for last with Dick's Grand Cru. those were my last 2 drain pours (but that was some time ago, 5+ years now)
My first attempt at a barley wine was Hog Heaven. Got through about half a pint before I decided that it had to go. It's scarred me from trying another barley wine at the moment.
I choked down a bottle of Stone Crime last night. It was horrendous but at $22 a bottle it was a metaphorical drainpour.
Victory Hop Ranch. Liked the taste, but the smell was overwhelming. Combination of cat piss, skunk and sauerkraut!
Drain poured a Sucks last night which is really disappointing since I went through multiple cases the previous years. Tasted very old and malty with almost no hop presence. I hear QC is all over the map with this year, so hopefully it was just a bad sixer.
stone 17th anniversary... HAD to have been a bad bottle.. it was just bad!! all malt no hops flat and a bad after taste!
Im pleading the fifth on this
I just tried that beer last night and I thought it was a bottle of dry hopped delight. Such sweet tangerine, and caramel malt- it was like beer candy.
Yeah I have a hop problem, and that barley wine was a hop extravaganza. A little much for me at the moment. One day I'll try to gradually introduce myself to hoppy beers, but for now I'm a stout/ dark ale kind of guy.
Did it a few times.
Rude Elf's Reserve -
Whatever your favorite 10 beers are, I mixed them all together and poured them in the toilet.
Also, Breaking Bad is the worst show ever, and the Beatles suck.
How's the weather down there, peons? Mwahahahahaaa!
Petrus Aged Pale. First time trying it. I drank half the bottle, then dumped the rest. Won't be having it again.
Stone Vertical 12-12-12 last night. Disgusting.
sam adams cherry chocolate bock...stay far away.
I so want to send you a bottle of wet snout milk stout From Sleepy Dog Over here In AZ it tasted like everything a milkstout ever should imo (gasp) i didnt really care for Left Hands Milk stout either bottle or tap.
That sounds amazing I shall get my lady to work on a pumpkin ale pie
Bruery 5 Golden Rings last night
Bottle share with a friend and had an off putting taste. Had to dump it
Mango Magnifico. Terrble. Just terrble.
2012 Brooklyn Monster Ale.
Man that stuff is just hot. A year did it no good. I feel like 5 years would do it no good.
I love Creme Brulee! Had about a bombers worth last night for New Year's celebration. Order it early and let it warm a bunch. I like it nearly room temperature myself. You couldn't pay me enough to pour it.
My latest: A friend gave me a Coors Light recently, it cleaned the garbage disposal on the way down.
Interesting. Had a bottle a couple of weeks ago in LA, and it was amazing! Consistency is so important.
A couple nights ago I drain poured a bottle of Epic Brewing's Sour Apple Saison.
Deschutes Green Monster. Oh man, it tasted like vinegar, just destroyed my mouth with every sip, after I poured it down the drain, I saw on the side in small print, "best after such and such date" was like damm, I wouldn't have drank it then lol
I love sours but this was true to its name
Troegs Mad Elf...I just couldn't do it
I have been fortunate in that I have not experienced a drain pour lately. I cannot remember the particular beer that was my last drain pour but I know it is very disappointing. When you spend good money on what you think is going to be a premo brew and to realize you would rather do without than suffer another swig of sub par swine !
Double bastard ale.
Short's Juicy Tree. Disgusting, unless you like eating blue spruce needles while wearing cherry ChapStick...
Bottle of Wild Blue. Reminded me of generic cough syrup.
Cigar city carrot cake.
You should try waxing your corks if you're gonna put them in long term storage. Just a thought.
It wasn't my long term storage, it was off the shelf at that age. My purchase decisions are pretty crappy sometimes.
I know there will be much ridicule for this, but last night I drain poured a Sierra Nevada Celebration. WAY too hoppy for me. guess I was expecting something along the lines of 2XMAS or Great. Lakes Christmas Ale.
I would give it another try down the road. I have had it a few times and it has always been great. Maybe a bad batch?
Ranger Creek Small Batch 4... When it was fresh, it was a nice barrel aged porter, but not it is a infected mess..
Sam Adams summer ale. Nasty stuff.
