I picked up a Mandarin Dragonet at Binny's LP yesterday and they had some KBS on the shelf as well.

Yeah, there was actually plenty of both when I got there around 5pm. I was pretty surprised.

I was brought out 2 bottles from the back. 5.99 each. Gotta love scoring KBS in September!

I thought it was singles at Binny's LP, but I passed so wasn't really paying much attention.

I had a Dragonet last night. Really enjoyable beer, very Pipeworks distinguishable. To me it did seem a tad more viscous than other fish series that I remember. Also, I'm not normally put off by the Pipeworks DIPA booziness, but Dragonet didn't seem as balanced as some of the others. Still a highly enjoyable beer.

I had the Dragonet, really enjoyed it as I do all fish series beers. Once you popped the cap the orange smell was amazing. To be honest... most of the fish series beers taste the same with very slight distinctions (could just be my pallet). I would say Sure Bet is still my favorite though. Would be nice if these were easier to come by, I am lucky if I get more than two.

I think at this point every beer should be kept in the back. For all we know KBS could be shelf turding it up in the back, but as long as people think it is limited...

Just on a ridiculous level, I love the idea of every shelf of Binny's being empty with a sign that says "looking for something? Ask an associate."

I would also like to implement the "Whale of Fortune." Install a gigantic wheel similar to that on Wheel of Fortune, but instead of numbers it will list all the whales available in store as well as all the non whale beers. Any customer wishing to purchase a whale will be awarded one spin per day on the whale wheel. If they win, they may purchase the whale selected, if not they MUST purchase the readily available beer they landed on whether they want it or not.

Is this a craft beer only wheel of fortune or will it have stuff like Steel Reserve, Bud Light, and Natty ice on it?

I still haven't had this, but my friend had it last night. I asked him what it tasted like.

"Y'know, fish series. You pretty much know what it tastes like."

That shit drives me nuts, especially since a lot of times I get "the wine guy" who has no idea what Todd the Axeman is much less if it's in stock.

Agreed. I've run into that in some dedicated beer shops (usually newer employees, obviously), and while I don't blame them, it drives me nuts as well, especially when I just imagine whatever it is that I'm looking for is sitting in the back (waiting for me to drink it).
