Ha, I actually didn't have either of these at the event, since I'd had them in the past. Maybe they were different than bottled?

I did have some peeps over for a tasting once, both were out, and Murderous killed the Straight Jacket.

    Either way, both are delish.

At any rate, who has a bottle of Dark Kriek for me? Holy shit.

Straight jacket and murderous are both world class barleywines. I think the straight jacket was different than normal and heard someone say it was a 2 year barrel aged version. No idea if that's true or not.

Either way. That jones dog was incredible.

Did you have the 2 year aged BCBBW? Don't get me wrong, I love Murderous, but that GI 2 year was sick and pretty damn different from what they bottled last year.

When will the Sure Bet DIPA see distro? Hopefully before Thanksgiving so I can have my sister bring a bottle or two home for the holidays (wishful thinking?)

I did have the 2 year BCBBW and did a side by side with Murderous and Straight Jacket and I'm still of the opinion Murderous was tops. With the 2 years on the BCBBW I got more oaky tannin then traditional barleywine sweetness. Most all in my group were of the opinion Murderous was the best barleywine of the night.

I'd recommend checking the pipework's website for recent batch numbers but, with all the dick pulling and nipple twisting at the brewery, looks like hasn't been updated since Halloween. Anything over 552 is less than a month old. Ask your trading partner for a batch number.

Got a hold of the Pipeworks/Forbidden Root collab. Though I was expecting a boozy, super spiced beer, I was pleasantly surprised by its earthiness. This was incredibly enjoyable to drink on a night like tonight. According to wikipedia, balsam of peru, which is found in the beer, is a common allergen. I am happy to report tha--choking.... help....

    Just kidding!

Hmmm that's crazy, I didn't know this one had Peru Balsam in it. I use perfume balsam in a few fragrances I've made in the past. Honestly, I had no idea that it's edible (or drinkable for that matter.)

All i ask for is a little communication just like when i trade beer. Im gonna jump on the @spicoli00 wagon here, what are they doing in the back?

    Justin,

I don't have an answer for you right now. The holidays have compounded our short-handedness on the shipping side. Also, PM'n me on here isn't always the best way to get in touch with Pipeworks (sorry for that...). Thread posts will get my attention much quicker! I've only got one e-mail from you in our system on the 24th and I can see it was forwarded to the shipping guy that day. We had a few days off for Thanksgiving so I can assume you should get an answer tomorrow when people are back at work. I'll follow up as well to make sure. Thank you for being a repeat customer. When you wrote us about your 1st order on July 24th, I can see that Mike wrote you within an hour. We can't always be that expedient with our customer service and responses at the moment. We try to be as up front about the process from the get-go by including messages like these on the website:

"***THIS PRODUCT IS CURRENTLY IN PRE-SALE. WILL NOT BE IN STOCK FOR A MINIMUM OF 10-12 BUSINESS DAYS. ***"

"DISCLAIMER: We have no actual shipping department. We only haveSam."

    "Send us some feedback!
    - We get a lot of feedback so it may take us a little bit to get back to you. Thanks for being patient in advance!"

I don't know if we shipped packages last week or not because of the short week but I know we will this week. Sorry again for the delayed response.

Thanks for the reply, it just sucks when 3 of my friends got tracking and other people on this thread got tracking Nov 19th, thats why i waited 5 days to e-mail you to kindly ask whats up? I honestly buy an insane amount of pipeworks to ship to people every week, because im proud of my local brewers, when BAs or friends come to town and ask whats good here the first thing i say is pipeworks. When the owners of Trophy room, Eddie and partner, asked me my personal favorite local brewery was i said pipeworks. I just hope the customer service hasent gone the way of FFF. But i digress here, thanks for the reply Garret i will be waiting to here back.

I actually swung by the brewery to get my gf a hoody and feed the kittens.... and I saw up on the shipping station that it looks like they had packed and shipped orders up through 704. So yours should be going out this week. Squeaky wheel gets the grease so I'll throw some extras in there =p.

    Update:

    We are thankful for YOU
    Aw shucks, you're the best.

Hope you stretched out some elastic waist banded sweat pants with all the eatin' you did on on T-day.

    Distro starts 12/01
    NEW! Sure Bet
-Imperial IPA brewed with honey, mango puree, simcoe, citra, and mosaic hops-
If you enjoyed Square Grouper, this one might also strike your fancy. We're certainly pleased with how this turned out. The aroma on this...even the thought of the talk of the aroma...so good.
    $11.99, 22oz, 9.5% ABV

    Closer Encounter
    -Hoppy Double Stout-
Ufology categorizes a "close encounter" as an interaction with a humanoid, robots, and humoids who seem to be pilots or in command of a flying object. BUT a "Closer Encounter" is a chocolatey, thick, roasty brew hopped out of this world. This beer is definitely undefinable and UFOOOOoooooo so good.
    22oz, $10.99, 11% ABV

    Pipeworks Ninja vs. Unicorn
    -Hoppy DIPA-
The battle wages on! The Unicorns and Ninjas are duking it out bringing the juicy hops and malt to the battlefield. This as-close-to-flagship-as-we-get DIPA is tasting real good. As always, drink early, drink often.
    $9.99, 22 oz, 9% ABV

    On the Horizon:

Pipeworks Nelson Sauvin- An Imperial IPA brewed with Nelson Sauvin Hops
Mocha Abduction - Imperial Stout brewed with coffee and chocolate

This beer is essentially Square Grouper with Mango... last minute I decided to lower the cost down to $10.99 MSRP instead of up-charging for the costly Mango... so it should be $10.99 at all Binny's stores and other retailers that keep pricing in line... keep an eye out and let me know if you see $12.99 anywhere and let me know so I can give them a friendly reminder that the case price was lowered... we're actively working towards getting prices lower for next year in anticipation of the new facility.
