I have not heard of this hop either but I suspected it was a Michigan-grown variety. It's a proprietary hop from Great Lakes Hops, a grower in Zeeland, MI, a small town close to the city of Holland, which is on the Lake Michigan shore. https://www.greatlakeshops.com/

Tmavé 13 is light and clean with scents of black strap licorice, rich brown bread, smoked wood, roasted chocolate, and sweet maple crisp. The advancement is earthy and a touch peppery by cindered herbs, trimmed grass, forest gummies, sugared raisins, and dried figs with sticky burnt toffee

A creamy and soft approach that rationalizes bitterness suitably with a casual dry finish = Bierstadt Czech Dark Lager with Bagby is a noble take, and fits well into the 2020 edition of “WOW! Beer”

Went to a new Nano brewery and everything was phenomenal

    Marto in Sioux City IA
Their Metal Beard imperial stout with vanilla was absolutely mind blowing. Everything else was very good. Keep your eyes out for them I think they’ll be one of the super hyped breweries when they start to bottle in the next few months.

Straw-colored hops to the teeth; this one packs a punch and you'll feel it (as I am right now) the next day. May post this to NBS today as I like to try new ones twice before reviewing. If you see it out there, snag one. (or4).

Scored 3 pints of Moon Pie stout. It blew my mind. It's for me among the best of the genre, up there with Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout as the best. I plan on buying a full 6 next trip. Thanks for this hot tip, you've got my loyalty.

I’m a Brown Ale fan and don’t often find them brewery fresh in my area, there are exceptions of course.
One such case is Big Bad Leroy Brown from Ravenous Brewing Co. in scenic Cumberland R.I.
On the border of American and English Brown Ale (it is an American) and not a N.E. style (murky). Very well done overall. The new location for Ravenous seems to be paying off.

I will be revisiting and reviewing their Rhode Haze IPA (listed as an AIPA, should be a NEIPA) later this week, or maybe tonight.
    Cheers.

    Enjoy

Oskar Blues One-y, WOW that is one of the worst beers I've ever had, 2 sips and down the drain. Bought a 15 can mixed pack, will be my last OB purchase, the can-o-bliss beer was not good either and the weed references are pretty juvenile.

Considering how lackluster Founder's releases have been the last few years, it surprises me they aren't cranking this out in four-pack bottles as soon as yesterday.

Had this on draft and it was exceptional! Smell and taste were perfectly on-point.

Just curious . . . did you detect the egg and bread flavor that French toast has or just a cinnamon flavor?

French Toast Bastard is actually the Cinnamon variant of Egg and Bread Bastard.

Kidding aside, I had the beer when I was in town for a wedding a few months back and it is very good. I’d rank it above both KBS and CBS.

Bumping this for something easily obtainable, while being noteworthy - It’s abundant in condiments, but soft in presentation, and wary of thickness…there is some solidarity in Hardywood’s spiced variants given aeration and time

    ---

A cola like appearance that’s rightly black, and timbered, with shaded brown peaks. There is a semi off-white top that’s shy in retention and lace, but impressive in legging by playful agitation

Barrel is light on spices, and fairly subdued to more central grounds. Accordingly, the aroma is cataloged by coconut ginger crack bars, cinnamon crusted toast, and graham bark. The backing has earthy sentiments, while encapsulated thru rich dark malt, roasted barley, and charred oak. Although soft, the bourbon connotations linger in scent to figs and prunes

Copious amounts of milk chocolate on palate to an assessment of bourbonized spices in cloves, anise, and nutmeg. Some curated pauses for distance in sweet molasses brown bread, vanilla glazed scones, and nutty, biscuit-y gingersnaps. There is an even more herbal, earthier element in the concourse, which roots dark fruit to toffee in a subtle liquored smokiness

A gentle approach here with gentle carbonation, for harmonized circumstance - Strong ginger/GSB frequency, where the sweetness is regulated to be sticky, but cautious of cloying

Second best beer I've had from Arkansas behind BDCS. If you were in the NBS BIF, you may get to try it too!

Pours a deep black with a quick tan head and no lacing.

The smell is dark fruits, chocolate, and vanilla. There's a small barrel presence underneath.

The taste is dark chocolate, dark fruits, caramel, and minimal barrel - particularly on the finish.

The mouthfeel is thick, minimum/medium carbonation with a lingering, slightly bitter finish

Overall, this beer is outstanding. Possibly the second best beer I've had from Arkansas.

I had a few "wow!" beers this year but this one is the standout for me: Et Stay Home #1 from Evil Twin NYC. It is my favorite Sour IPA ever. This beer was a masterpiece and I am extremely grateful I was able to try a can.
