I am easily wowed. And this is a good thing. Union Craft Snow Pants. Probably the best oatmeal stout I have had.

Boddington's Pub Ale. It's not super strong, doesn't knock your socks off, but goes
down as SILKY and SMOOTH as any beer that I've ever tried. Besides the great
FEEL it has a nice ale flavor that satisfies. Going out today and get me a 4 or 6 pack,
however they come. A wow experience without the fireworks.

What beer did you have recently
that made you say whoa? One you
surprisingly really did not like. I'm
surprised to say mine was Heart of
Darkness. Sorry HOD fans but it
just didn't do it for me.

    Anybody else have the whoas?

I am a huge IPA and DIPA fan, in fact I rarely drink anything else. Before I got into DIPAs and IPAs, I tried stouts but really did not like them.
KBS changed that for me. I am currently drinking it right now for the 4th time, and I can't believe the flavor in it. Bourbon, Chocolate, and Coffee all in one smooth as velvet beer.

KBS really changed my mind about Stouts, so WHOA

EDIT: Read your post wrong, oops.

Lights On from Tree House here in MA....a 5.6% pale ale that drinks like mango/orange juice. It defies expectations related to ABV and style.

I posted this pic a few days ago. This had a "WHOA" like Goose Island BCBS taste, but didn't have the same high ABV content which made the bomber easier to drink.

I think that one is for positive experiences and this one is for negative experiences.

My latest "Whoa, this is terrible beer" was back in December. I went to an Old Chicago for lunch and a couple people were talking about this Java Jingle stout that just blew. Apparently it was an amazing vanilla stout and I stumbled across some 6 packs later that week and bought one. When I got home and cracked one I could tell by the aroma that this wasn't a good vanilla beer. It just reeked of vanilla extract and, while I love natural vanilla flavoring, I absolutely hate that artificial vanilla flavor from extract. I choked one down, gave two away, tried another one a couple weeks later to see if it was as bad as I remembered (it was) and have two more sitting in the garage waiting to be given away to someone with terrible taste.

OK after reading more posts in this thread I think people didn't get your point @19etz55

I'm trying to think of a hyped up beer I've had recently I didn't like but can't. The one that always stands out for me is Stone IRS... I just don't like it. It seems plasticky/fake and thin to me (had it many times). Most of the other Stone Stouts I love though (Woot, Xocoveza, Fyodors, etc).

For me it would have to be Sam Adams Rebel Rider. I enjoy hoppy sessionable beers and even many SA products but this one wasn't good at all.

Super nebula from block15. Not sure if bad bottle or what, but it sucked. Had it on draft and was great. Bottle was flat, no flavor, and was destined to be a drain pour until I realized I stood in line for over an hr to get my 5 btl allotment and paid $11 per btl. whoa #hosed

3F Deesko! unfortunately. I really tried to like it, but it was just not my thing. After an attempt to pass it on to my wife who equally did not like it, down the drain went :slight_frown:

Only the second beer I've ever drainpoured.

On the polar end, I'm just finishing off a bottle of Pipeworks' One Glove, One Oven Mitt, and WHOA, it impressed the hell out of me.
