LI beer drinkers/bottle shares

keep the posts coming guys...it is great to see such great participation. i'm always down for bottle shares and it is hard to keep track of who lives where...or work on a date that works for a small group of 5 or 6. with a list this size, whomever wants to host will be able to just pick a date and start up a convo with multiple participants.

the point of this thread (from my perspective) wasn't so much to set up a specific event, but rather have a list of locals who are interested in opening bottles. i regularly like to pick a random weeknight to open a few and often in my current tasting group there is no one available or just one person and it is always fun to meet other BAs. i was more looking for a larger list of locals to reach out to when i'm feeling like setting up something small..or have a horizontal or vertical that i'm aiming to tackle. these mega tastings are also a lot of fun, but can be a big production with scheduling and all that...sometimes it is more fun for a spontaneous "who wants to open x tonight?" and find one or 2 people available. i personally don't like to go above 10 people for a tasting since a 22oz bottle yields 2 oz pours and it becomes less of a tasting and more of a hang (not that there is anything wrong with that, but i feel a hang calls more for locally acquired stuff, whereas a tasting calls for more tickable beers).

that being said, i might be able to meet up on june 11th depending on where. will have to firm it up with the family.

 

by all means, this is open to anyone who wants to host. use this list/thread or start up a convo.

does that mean june 11th is off? i'm around that night if anyone wants to meet up and open one, two, or five.

 

11th is doable for me if anyone wants to open something fun. i can probably host or travel, but if i travel will have to take it easy. i work out east (exit 62) and could be down to meet up right after work.

does anyone know if blue point allows bottle sharing? could be cool to do an afterwork meet there?

 

the 11th no longer works for me...my boss is in town so i'm tied up that evening with dinner plans with him. also, BP brewery is only open thursday - saturday. i work at exit 62 and am usually out by 5 or 5:30 and can meet up after work by you, but you'd have to host. alternatively i can host, but live around exit 37.

tuesday the 12th is probably doable for me if anyone wanted to get together to open one or two.
