    Hey guys,

Looking for a bit of info on Live Oak Hefeweizen kegs. I'm getting married this May just a bit outside Austin and am looking to get 2 kegs of Live Oak Hefe, along with some other BMC for the masses. Anyways, our alcohol vendor for the wedding has been quoting me some outrageous prices for them and saying that their availability is extremely limited. I've done some research myself and it seems like they're pretty easy to come by, especially from a store like Spec's, and I'm finding prices of ~$160 for 1/2 barrel kegs. The vendor said the cheapest they can get it is ~$210/keg. Pretty sure they're just blowing smoke up my a**, but I'm not local so I've really got no idea. Any help is appreciated.

160 is in the lower end of the spectrum..
just order it from Specs yourself and skip your vendor, he's out to make a profit... he does weddings for a reason...

Have to agree with above comment...Just call Spec's and get a price and you can preorder whatever you need if you want.

FWIW, we got a sixtel of Live Oak Hefe for our (8-person) high school reunion party from Spec's. It was like $90 + deposit for the keg/tap. Man do I love me some Live Oak Hefe.

On a somewhat related note, can I come to your wedding?

Thanks everyone. I'll most likely just do everything myself vs. going through the vendor, but really didn't want to have to worry about pickup/delivery while I was there. It would be much easier to just have them do everything, but I'm unwilling to pay what they're asking.

Nate, I also love me some Live Oak Hefe. I traded for a growler about a year ago and absolutely loved it, so I knew I was going to have it at the wedding when we chose TX. As far as the invite, we've already blown our expected headcount out of the water at ~200 guests now, but maybe you can sneak in and grab a beer. Also, thumbs up to your avatar.
