Does anyone know if these beers use similar malts and/or hops? Both are a deep amber color and, in my opinion, very nicely hoped. I love beers like these. I don't know of any similarities between these two beers except that I would gladly drink copious amounts of each. I was able to find some info on the ingredients used in Celebration, but haven't found much on the ingredients used in Sick Day (though my research was just a handful of google searches). Any info you have would be appreciated.

Additionally, if anyone has any recommendations on other beers that are "hoppy ambers," I'd appreciate you telling me.

    Thanks in advance!

"Hoppy Amber" is synonymous with Troegs Nugget Nectar, although the flavor profile is significantly different from that of Celebration. I'm assuming the same thing for Sick Day although I have not had it.

Hop Devil from Victory. Fresh that beer is on a whole new level. Global Warmer from Sixpoint is damn delicious. Blazing World from Modern Times is my favorite Hoppy Amber, next to MBC - Red Wheelbarrow. I also love Celebration and is the only seasonal I look forward to having each year from Sierra Nevada.

Edit: I like the way Sick Day is described on their website. I'm looking forward to see if this hits my area. It sounds very similar to Hop Devil around the same color and ABV. The hop profile is also similar to Hop Devil Bold and Spicy.

Oh yes, Nugget Nectar, that one doesn't come to RI, but it does come to Mass. I'll keep an eye out. It's released soon, no?

I forgot about Global Warmer. I haven't had that one yet, but remember wanting to give it a shot. Thanks!

Zoe from MBC is another good example IMO.

I second the Global Warmer recommendation. This year's recipe is much better than last year's. Hop Devil is more of a straight IPA in my opinion. I also recommend Lagunitas Lucky 13 Mondo Large Red Ale and Ithaca Cascazilla.

Yup, should be out next month, this time in pint cans in addition to bottles.

Surly's Furious is listed as an IPA, but it's more of a hoppy amber to my palate.

Regarding your latter question, the bigger=better crowd will roll their eyes, but Stone Levitation is awesome.
It's probably my favorite beer from Stone. An under appreciated gem that was ahead of the curve in the marketing of American hoppy session beer. If only it wasn't so easy to find sixers past their enjoy by date.

I second that you should try global warmer before it's gone. What my long trail rep told me is that they sonly slightly modified the malt base for their previous winter seasonal (hibernator, a scottish mild ale) and changed up and amped up the hop bill completely.

Red Gold is my Favorite. Celebration a close second. Nugget Nectar a solid third.

No. Gubna yes, G'Knight, no. I really like G'Knight, very good amber ale.

Celebration is not an amber (as I am sure you know), it's just a maltier IPA.....as is Furious.
