What beers have you had over the past month or so that you haven't had in awhile or just had for the first time, that you either really liked/loved or were really disappointed in?

My liked/loved was Founders Curmudgeon. This beer for some reason has eluded me for years now. I finally picked up a four pack of this years and I really loved it.

My disappointment was a 2010 bottle of Founders (as you can see I love Founders) KBS. It was just not as good as when fresher. I still have a few more bottles, so I'm not giving up on it and hopefully it was just my palate that night or something, but I seem to like that beer fresher.

    Yours?

I just picked up some SNPA as a session beer which I haven't had for quite a while. I was getting too sloshed on the higher ABV beers.

While picking up at Alesmith I had a chance to try my 1st speedway variant.
Arabian Mocha Java. That was a good beer.

    Cheers!

I've been looking for some red ales I enjoy lately because it's not a style I've had good luck with, and decided to try Lakefront's Fixed Gear American Red Ale despite not having had good experiences with Lakefront in the past. It's a very hoppy red with a lot of citrusy notes, and I really enjoyed it.

2nd on Smuttynose, it's easily overlooked by me and I usually go 2H, but Smutty is just an outstanding non sexy IPA.

I would say that Saisons/Farmhouse ales, as a style, would be a FOUND for me...I used to strictly go for a solid IPA, a IIPA, or a porter or stout...but recently I have been seeking out and enjoying Saisons and Farmhouse ales...

Given my love for IPAs though, I tend to look for hoppier versions of the sytle - so suggestions are welcome!

Pumple Drumkin from Cisco just hit the shelves again. I had forgotten about that beer. It's a great pumpkin beer.

I just had an Elysian Night Owl the other night. I forgot what a great pumpkin beer that is. Never had the Pumple Drumkin though.

Mine was Curmudgeon as well! In fact, it has me seeking out more Old Ale's, which has proven to be a tough task.

I got Stone IPA recently- first sixer in quite a while. I was intrigued by the new packaging and freshness dating, and saw that it was only a few weeks old. I gotta say, this may have been the best sixer of that beer that I have ever gotten, and it came very close to a fresh draught pint. Much enjoyment and fist-pumping ensued. Welcome back to my world, old friend, sorry it's been so long.
