just read an article on Lost Tribes brewery and surprised that my search on BA got no hits. apparently they sell sells three beers: a pale ale they call Shikra, an Aramaic word for alcoholic beverage; Tej, an Ethiopian-adapted recipe of honey and herbs, and a light beer. brewed in NY State. anybody tried any of these?
I know a guy who knows a guy who makes the stuff. When my brother-in-law threw a party after his son was born, his father (the guy I know who knows a guy) brought a bunch of Shikra and the light beer (whose name I can't remember). I thought the stuff was decent, although it was before I was really into craft beer, so I can't say for sure how good it is. Meanwhile, I've seen growler fills for Tej around the city at like $70. I should really find out the story.
