Hi folks. Happy to tell you that we are introducing a new year-round beer this week, called EvoLupulin. This is an evolving double IPA for which the hop recipe will change from time to time. It will be packaged in kegs and 12 oz. 6-pack cans. The can and carton will have a QR code that will take you to a web page that will show the hop recipe for that packaging date. The malt bill is 100% German pilsner malt and will remain the same. Hop recipe for the first batch is Columbus, Equinox and Galaxy - citrus, tropical fruit, resinous. Initial limited release in eastern Mass this week, and eventually throughout our New England distribution. Cheers and look forward to your feedback.

I look forward to trying this. I liked the Alden DIPA quite a lot.

I appreciate this. I’m generally not a fan of beers that change recipe each batch on purpose. Invariably some batches are better than others and that inconsistency turns me off especially when I can’t easily tell which batch is which at the store. But this use of a QR code to instantly tell me the recipe and package date goes a long way in helping me decide whether or not to purchase the beer. Kudos to you. Looking forward to trying this.

This sounds interesting and I like the concept. Mayflower deserves more credit for its beers than it seems to get.

Had it on draft in the tasting room this weekend. It was very good. Looking forward to the every changing recipe and cans around town.

Pricing is up the retailer, but our case pricing to them is in the mid-range of other double IPAs sold in Massachusetts.

Just grabbed a sixer of 12 oz. cans and thought it was pretty great and interestingly different. Loved the pilsner malt backbone. Unfortunately it was $17 at CBC belmont, so if that's a typical price point it won't be a very common purchase for me. I know that's not too far off from premium 4 pack pounder pricing, but $15 is something of a psychological barrier for me for 4/6 packs.

I hear ya. Even though that works out pretty much exactly to the same price per oz as a $15 4-pack, it's tough to spend more for a 6-pack than you're accustomed to spending on a 12-pack. At least for me and my $15 or less Smutty and Sierra Nevada 12ers.

Got to try it at the taproom and bought a 6 pack. Nice balance of malt and hops. Kind of a refreshing breakaway from all the juicy IIPAS that all the other NE breweries are doing....but that being said I still prefer those juicy hops.
