Hi folks. Just a quick note to let you know that Mayflower Brewing Company will release our latest Cooper's Series beer next week. It's called "Alden", and it's an 8% ABV, unfiltered double IPA hopped with Chinook, Citra and Mosaic. Following up on Mayflower Scotch Ale, which we released last fall, this is the second in our new line of limited edition, Cooper's Series beers that are packaged in 4-packs. We brewed a total of 200 barrels and are spreading the packaging over four weeks to ensure a steady flow of fresh beer. We plan to make it available throughout our New England distribution area. Cheers and hope you enjoy it.

Enjoyed the Scotch Ale quite a bit, and those varietals have me salivating.

Love the bit of smoke in the scotch ale! This one sounds like a great hop combo! Brewed something similar w lower abv. It was amazing

I have not had many of their beers, but their porter and oatmeal stout are really well made beesr. Reasonable price as well. Hopefully I will see these.

I'm curious as to what the benefits of not filtering are?

I find non filtered fresh offeeeltings much more flovorful. I've always felt that filtering strip some hop flavors. Love a cloudy , murky pale ale or ipa. Ala Hill Farm stead

This one is completely transparent, fyi. Not a hint of cloudiness in my glass. Looks like how I remember Sculpin looking.

Alden is nice. Really hoppy, mosaic stands out pretty well. More chinook than citra though. A tad malty which balances it out well. An above average DIPA. Mayflower seems to always be rock solid

This has peaked my interest greatly, especially since my middle name is Alden and my family tree goes back to John Alden of the Mayflower. Anyone see this in RI?

I heard from the brewery that it hit the RI distributor this week so should be seeing it anytime now.

Picked up a 4 pack. Great DIPA! Its got it all. Malt sweetness, bitter finish, and 8% abv booze kick. You can tell your drinking a DIPA and its pretty balanced. Awesome job Mayflower!

On tap today at Natty Greene's Tavern in North Attleboro. DELICIOUS. Another solid beer from Mayflower.

Just cracked one of these. Really tasty. Solid fruity aroma, excellent hop flavors throughout, nice bitter finish. Top notch beer. Would definitely buy this often if it were available regularly.

Grabbed a 4 pack last night and this is great. Bottled 1/19 so super fresh. Extremely fruity. Way too good for something like this to not make it into the regular Mayflower lineup!

Great to see so many NE breweries producing fine IPAs, DIPAs, IIPAs and hoppy Pales. Just a short list of others would include Alchemist's Crusher and Focal Banger and Fiddlehead's Mastermind (unfortunately all only available in northern Vt.), Lawson's Sip of Sunshine (now out in cans in Ct. thanks to Two Roads, if you can find it), Wormtown's Be Hoppy (great that they have a new batch every month or so), Bissell Bros. Substance, Cape Ann's Deadeye, Otter Creek's Kind Ryed, Big Elm's Fat Boy, Brewmaster Jack's Hoppiness is a Warm Pun, and various Tree Houses and Trilliumns. Some now older friends are out fresh this month too, including OC's Citra Mantra and Smutty's Durty. NE BAs are truly blessed! Cheers!

I didn't see any Alden when I was hitting up the packy yesterday but hope to come across some in the coming week. I've always liked Mayflower's limited run brews. I'm looking forward to the arrival of their Spring Hop Ale seasonal, too.

Oh boy, I'm also looking forward to this. Fantastic beer.

That Scotch Ale was one of the best beers I've had in a while. So smooth and tasty. Looking forward to Alden.
