    ABV: 11.6%

Somber and smoky, BarFly Smoked Imperial Stout saunters into the room slowly. Thick smoke. Cool swagger. Good wood. Bit of bourbon. Sticky leather. Slow glances. Lingering looks. Vanilla. The only thing that didn’t make the glass was maraschino cherry. Bring your own and…wear out your welcome.

First brewed as part of our 2010 Pop Ten Series, BarFly was added to our Alaska’s Most Wanted line-up in 2014. Bourbon barrel-aging requires a long leisure so this beer is not on a set schedule but we hope to get a batch out about once a year.

    Availability:
AK - 22-oz bottles and very limited draft (Late Summer 2014)
WA, OR, CA, NY – 22-oz bottles (Late Summer 2014)

    ALASKA’S MOST WANTED

Midnight Sun crafts some of the most sought-after beer in the world. This ongoing and ever-growing line—called Alaska’s Most Wanted—includes creative successes from our themed beer series as well as amazing one-offs. The beers in this line-up will be produced and released as time and tank space permit but they will be repeated.

We hope you love our extra special brews as much as we do. A gracious thank-you to our long time “every weather” fans for years of love and support. And an open-armed welcome to the new aficianados who are just discovering our very characterful beers.

It for sure won't be the same considering that this batch will be aged in Bourbon and not Cabernet Sauvignon barrels.

I'm guessing KevSal is alluding to the fact that Gabe Fletcher isn't involved this time, but that's just my guess

Very sad that its not a faithful recreation of the original beer, which was truly marvelous, but I'll still be doing what I can to procure a bottle.

Anyone have any idea why they didn't just barrel it the same way? Just curious.

For quite some time now. We get all their latest and greatest. Loved the first batch of BarFly. The next one - not as much. Looking forward to the new batch.

Wonderful. I just hope they actually send some of this special release north of Anchorage this time. Was very disappointed when I couldn't find any of the last batches of TREAT and Berserker. "Available in AK" my ass.

But really I love Midnight Sun no matter what. Even if I don't see it, I'll still have my Monk's Mistress and Fallen Angel...

Agreed. I couldn't find Berserker in Sitka. Does it have the disclaimer that it's "Alaskan's most wanted" because they'd rather hook up the lower 48 and ignore the state they're supposed to make beer for?

Just picked up their Second Hand Smoke, I wonder if it's the same base beer.

I thought it was a very excellent beer, but then again I never had the original 2010. A few people when I was at Midnight Sun on Monday said it was as good if not better.

I tried a sample at the brewery when I was there picking up my bottles and I was impressed.
Second hand smoke is the second runnings of Barfly. So Barfly is Second Hand Smoke on steroids with some bourbon to mellow out the smoke.
