This thread is for openings and closings of breweries in Minnesota for the year 2025 Items to post: Brewery openings including grand opening dates, soft opening dates. Breweries that close or have announced closings or rumors of closings Breweries moving to a new location. Visits to recently opened breweries-tell us something about the visit: favorite beer, etc. Future planned openings either this year or future years. Local papers can be a good source for news. I’ve also gotten info or rumors chatting at other breweries. Be kind Please do not post about established breweries or beers unless they are closing or moving. There are other threads to post that or start a new one. No arguing. No politics.

List of potential openings in Minnesota I keep a list of breweries that potentially could open. Ely Brewing Company. A quick Google search yielded nothing. But it's listed here. https://www.mncraftbrew.org/breweries-in-planning/
Does anyone know what happened to Brew Lab 101 ? Opened early 2024 , then silent and temporarily closed late 2024. Did not get a chance to get in and the New Mexico influence looked promising tho me.
Found this on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brewlab101...4BpFqyVtAty9xrsoUqBKqpGWicqoBj1CgQEFPkX2DEmMl Odd there wouldn't be a bit more pub about it
I wasn't able to find the Jordan Brewing social media anymore. Like they deleted their accounts maybe. Not a great sign
Thanks for this. I keep waiting for that Osseo one to move forward but what's it been in the works for 3 or 4 years now?
I was wondering how the Minnesota Brewery opening and closings were trending over past several years. I went through the Minnesota opening and closing summaries of the past several years mostly gleaned through year end summary posts by RAH-RAH-Beer and islay. It was clear that some of the closings reopened under new ownership. It appears we might be at the point where for every Brewery opening we will see another Brewery that closes. My guess is we see more closings than openings in 2025. Minnesota Breweries/Brewpubs Open Close 2019 19 * No summary of closings found 2020 16 5 2021 12 6 2022 16 7 2023 16 12 2024 9 10
Just because I had no idea where Biwabik is, and did a little poking as a result, I noted that their Insta page had an update three weeks ago: "Brewing updates coming 2025!"

Pen Name Fermentation Project is opening in April as a side project of Haggard Barrel, which will be opening its taproom soon. It is a collaboration between the current head brewer of Haggard Barrel, Karl Eicher, and Mat Waddell (formally of Wild Mind and Blackstack). It will focus on wood-aged, mixed-ferm, and lagers. https://www.instagram.com/pennamefermentationproject?igsh=OHo3a3d2aGQ2Mzdk

Mineral Springs Brewery in Owatonna is moving. Grand opening in February. https://www.facebook.com/mineralspringsbrewery
I've commented on Fair State in the past and now I'm gonna do it again. I just don't understand how a brewery that produces some of the best beer in MN can be in such dire straits, (I realize the craft beer market has taken a hard hit, but quality beer still sells). I also don't understand how the owners go from making sales projections of 14 million dollars in 3 years & a 3.3 million dollar investment in equipment to closing their production site Without starting a political debate, I wonder, is this a Cooperative or union failure? Or is it just great brewers with lousy business sense? It is definitely a head scratcher...I just wish I didn't like their beer so damn much!!
Making good beer and knowing how to run a business are very different skills. Fair State made good beer. Also, lying is a thing
